Has any one noticed that the Gen 3 shown in the video is a different design than what's being sold in Law Tactical Website as Gen-3M? I can't find the one shown in the video!
Solid review. I bought one back when they were $200 and didn't end up liking it. The weight was noticeable, it didn't have much tension when closed, and in the vehicle I preferred having the buffer tube extended so it was easier to grab. Good option for a bag gun, if that's your thing.
After doing some research and watching this vid about 6 months ago I bought the LT folder for my PSA 7.5" 300BLK. Absolutely love it 👍 Thanks for making this review!
The law only adds about 10.5 ounces or a bit over 1/2 a lbs to a weapons’ weight. Love mine on my 10.3” pistol. My AR pistol fully kitted out with 30 rounds, eotech XPS-3, streamlight TLR-1 flashlight, law folder, sba3 brace, and back up iron sights weighs just under 9lbs, which is heavy-ish, but gives more than enough functionality for a 0-150yrd back pack gun that actually has some firepower, so that offsets the weight to me.
Law tactical is releasing their proprietary BCG that let you fire with the stock fold that as much as you want it should release next month they've been working on it for about 6 years I'm hyped
It was a “no brainer” for me. I got one. Love it. Highly innovative. Makes the AR platform much easier to conceal and transport from home to truck, or in a bag- be creative. :)
I like it because I can carry an 11.3" in a vertx gamut overland along with a suppresor, G45, mags, medkit, chest rig, water, snacks and various other crap for a range day in a decently discreet package. Lugging around a big case and side pack is a chore.
My bro sent me notification Brownell over the weekend, bought one, received final invoice stating it shipped. Pretty excited, still don't know if I'm gonna install it on my 7.5 springfield, I just figured it'd be best to buy it for shits n giggles
Finally got one after 8 years of wanting to get it. Great addition, but wow, is it heavy. My PWS Mk116 with a vortex LVPO was already heavy enough, but the LAW noticeably increased the weight.
As if the review wasn’t good enough, you close with a Pennywise tune….shit ya. Well done. Put one on my Banshee 5.7 (love it) and just grabbed one for a 7.5” 556 pistol. Wanted to see what the YT crowd thought and your review confirms it all. Well done
Put one on my 300 blk a little over a year ago for my daily bag gun.....since the day i installed it i havent touched the hardware and i manipulate it every day and its been solid as a rock...even after hundreds of rounds.....close to a thousand for sure...i shot a lot when 300 was easy to find....now not so much lol
True BUUUUUUT Law is about to come out with a modified bcg that doesn't need the buffer tube, and there's another company that already makes them, but the waitlist AFTER purchasing... currently is at 2 years! lol I agree, MCX is the shit.
@@tseawell90 Proprietary, yes, for many of them. But super durable and high-quality which is why I like the platform. Always good to buy extra parts of whichever platform one chooses. Just look how hard it is to get MANY AR parts right now. Should be a lesson to everyone.
An issue which is actually kind of a non-issue I ran into was I couldn't get my 10.3 DD to lock back on last round using weak ammo, ie wolf steel, with the law tactical and Geissele Super 42 installed even after replacing all tungsten weights with steel. I suspect it's because the super 42 spring is too strong and the bcg extension bumps a std carbine buffer to a H2/H3 weight. If you run suppressed or use full power ammo this won't affect you at all but just thought I'd share my experience.
Great video Ivan. Which JP SCS part are you using in your Sugar Weasel? I think I'd need this one for mine (JPSCS2-15H2-LAW) but wanted to ensure I don't need the H2 version. Thanks for all you do.
I love my Law Folder, it is just the right fit when you are building compact AR's. Makes piling into a vehicle a lot easier too. SOLGW Soul Snatcher / FCD Furniture, 9" 300BLK
oof I didn't know it weighed so much. it's definitely cool but I can't see a scenario in which I'd prefer stowing slightly smaller over 10+ ounces of weight. maybe in extremely specialized use cases.
Did you notice any changes in performance? The bolt extension weighs around 2oz which adds to the overall buffer weight and I had to make a minor adjustment to my adjustable gas block to get the same ejection pattern.
I have a Sylvan arms folder and its only a couple oz.. it's held up about a year now with no noticable funk or play or signs of fail yet.. just saying.. it's good sofar... The law tac unit is tight and has better mechine work.. it's better for sure
Got the $20 knockoff. Needs finessing but once sorted it works fine. Drilled and tapped worm screws near hinge on inside to keep slop to a minimum. 18 months, 1k rounds of 7.62x39 on pistol length gas system.
The sylvan arms version works perfectly although it adds a bit more overall length than law tactical's. Not sure if that's the "Chinese knock-off" you're referring to. I'll take the price cut over the added length personally.
Awesome video! Have you ran into buffer issues, ie. The bolt adapter adding more weight to the carrier causing cycling issues? Have you had to go to a lesser weight buffer?
I use the standard carbine buffer and with the plug it has made the gun more pleasant to shoot. Almost like adding a heavier buffer for my clearly over-grassed home build 😒! But at least it has never had cycling issues before or after the law install lol.
Hello hope you are doing well. why did you change your buffer? is it because a lot of people face issues with the SW and Law tactical stock adapter with subs? just ordered one and now on the Q facebook page several people wrote about the issue...just wondering if you faced the same and if so what was the solution? thanks in advance
Another great video brotha! I just ordered my law tactical for my Springfield saint victor 7.5 and can't want to install it!!! How is yours hold up since making this video/can we get an update for this video?
Hey can you do a tutorial on using the sling with the stock folded I'm interested in getting the adapter but I would like to use a sling with it and I'm not sure how it's going to work out for me if you can please show me yours I'd appreciate it
I'll have to look into that JP captured system. That's probably the only annoyance I have with the LAW folder ( trivial as it may be) is I either have to shimmy the upper forward and up to disassemble, or yank the plug. Other than that super minor thing the LAW folder rocks. Great vid.
I just take out both push pins and cant the upper away from the lower and separate since it’s faster than fidgeting with the folder and having to deal with a loose plug. It goes back together easily with a twist after some practice. It’s actually faster than folding the buffer tube, removing the plug, securing the plug somewhere, re-closing the buffer to accessing and push the take down pin, then hitting the forward assist to clear the bolt carrier forward enough, and then the finally clamshelling the weapon open.
Interesting product. Bad idea for a SHTF bugout gun. Too many things that can go wrong or a part that is proprietary and can’t be easily replaced. Would be nice for a truck gun just for driving around the ranch or whatnot.
I have no extra ammo to shoot why am I buying another product to shoot an empty rifle? I have given up on my love of shooting for the next 6 months and focus on my other loves of fishing and hunting. I use to shoot a 1000 rounds a month between all my rifles and pistols. Who knew primers would cute my legs off. I refused to given into people selling ammo at double price!!!
If you’re waiting for prices to get back to where they were youll be waiting a lot longer than 6 months. The price of everything has increased. From raw materials to shipping and labor. Add in huge increase in demand and governments printing vasts sums of money and prices will probably never be back to 2019 levels.
@@ryanpeck3377 not waiting on prices to return to pre_Biden just waiting on store supply back to normal/people to stop the panic buying. Everything is going up, I understand that concept!
Titan Tactic has been using KB's videos to promote their knock-off law folder, along with many other youtubers. Buy the real thing no matter how long the wait.
I got one, and it’s not machined tight enough to stay straight when closed pretty annoying because I got it installed and got to the range before I noticed. The gun doesn’t cycle.
It's an expensive addition to add to my dirt squirrel. Adding a $200 part to a $2500 honey badger, not as much. There is a cheaper folder on the market it does most of what this does, but looks like the law folds further in against the gun. The cheaper one sits at a slight cant when it's fully folded. But I believe it's like $100 cheaper so 🤷♂️
@@alexgrifaldo I own both… The law is the better unit, but the Sylvan does work, but on mine the buffer detent is too low and it will launch the spring and buffer out the receiver extension from time to time if you don’t cover it with your thumb when opening. The law folder doesn’t have that defect. I’m sure I just got a bad one since I haven’t seen many of this complaint. The law is on my backpack gun, the Sylvan is sitting on a receiver I haven’t built yet since I got the Law 🥴.
I have a couple of these folders and it's nearly impossible for the plug to fall out. It's a very tight fit and there are o-rings on the plug that really "seal" it in place. There is also a metal arm that slides into place that locks the plug in place. It's not going anywhere.
I've used both: if your main concern is keeping your rifle slim, compact, concealable, and fireable while small, go pdw. If you want compact storage and need to keep your stock length, go Law Folder. Pdw stocks often need special bcg's and are not super comfortable to shoot, but are best for SLIM compact storage and can be fired while compact. The law is great if you want compactness where thickness doesn't matter and want fully adjustable stock length.
Great stuff, be advised that the ATF will ban this as soon as they see they are missing out on all the tax stamps they could be collecting, get them while you can folks! 😅🤣😂
