Hey Nev.....what point do you look at at point of delivery? Some choose a point in the distance....some halfway....some look at a point at their feet? I have tried drawing an imaginary line.......what the answer?
I looked at a lot of bowls when I was buying, but ended up with size 4 heavy, because they felt comfortable. I have tried a size 3, same make and model, and can not get the control I have with the 4's. Perhaps use club bowls for a while. They generally have different makes, models and sizes. Then you will have a good idea of what you need. I didn't know this when I started, but I was lucky that the 'comfortable' bowls are just right.
When I was 11 I bough a set of Taylor lignoids size 3 because they suited the green. Changed club this year so decided to upgrade bowls I'm 15 now. I could not get on the wide line so decided to drop to a lower bias the Taylor ace now already hitting my line after 1 practice. The new bowls are my first coloured set
Hi Nev, Great series of videos mate. I'm looking for a new bowl for Sydney conditions. Like the feel in hand of the SRVs. How suitable are they to Sydney greens and how stable are they in windy or tracks greens?
When I started bowling just 10 weeks ago, I got ready by buying a set of size 4 bowls, which felt (and still do) comfortable to hold. Unfortunately a thumb and wrist problem means that using the 'C' grip makes my wrist ache after just a few ends, so I have bought a set of size 2 bowls (same make and model). Let's hope they help the wrist, and when it fully recovers, and if I want, I can go back to the size 4s.
Hi spent many rs in Aus never took it but now in cold uk, so while you sell new & we know bias of new how do we OAP sort out cheaper 2nd hand to use.Bias , is a problem here fast greens, slow greens, bummpy greens.etc
my bowling instructor said a size 0 was best for me, but I find it too heavy. I prefer the size 00. People are telling me I should listen to him but I feel I know my own body, and a 0 causes me pain.
