That Greensmaster animation was straight up 💯. When I did my test last year I was extremely low on everything. I used a 12-12-12 for two months and on the third month, did a test again. What I found was I no longer needed any phosphorus because the level came up quickly. While these tests aren’t 100% necessary, they are helpful in guiding you on what to throw down and what you may not need. Quality content 👍.
Thats very true on getting your soil test done. I've been using my soil test for 2 season its easy and rewarding to see what's going on in the lawn..great job 👍
Crazy how similar my results were to yours! Crazy high on CA, nitrogen crazy low. Then again, I'm not that far from you. Makes you wonder how much effect the "soil amendment" and other stuff really have.
@@LawnInsider just don’t get caught on their security cams pulling soil samples. They might think you’re sabotaging their pH levels to make your lawn look even better! Lol
My My Soil test also came back showing that both nitrogen and potassium were very low. They recommended Stress Blend so I contacted them asking why because Stress Blend is only 7% N. Their response was that they were recommending an app that was 3 times the rate of the usual Stress Blend rate of 3 lbs/1000 sf .
I’m just a few miles south of you in Cibolo. I tried milorganite and my phosphorous level went sky high. I’ll never use that stuff again. I did my test back in November.
I really had no idea what expect on my test since I had never done it. I was actually pretty happy where everything was at. Easier to fix having less of something than too much!
Yeah me either. They also recommended 7-0-20 for me as well. My potassium is super low so it makes sense. I’m gonna start with that and turn to the Anderson products. PGF Complete, Doc’s super Juice and green shocker and I’ve also got three bags of humichar down over the winter. So there will be some spoon feeding going on here. How’s a good time to discus pre emergent as well. My soil temps today are 62 in full sun areas and 52 in shaded areas. I’m not applying because I have new sod in front and over seeding the back this Reno season. I applied PE yesterday on my buddies houses.
Enjoyed your soil test w/ results0 video. Just mailed my soil sample and waiting for results. I have been researching the benefits of soil conditioning w/ humic acid. Liquid bumate is expensive. Isn't problems with applying the dry form? (50 lbs. @ $30 a bag) Thanks!
Is a soil test needed if using organic fertilizers when it amends the soil microbes? For example on my backyard I had low N, K, I but great P, Ca, Mg and Na to name a few but my grass always grows lush and green despite the deficiencies.
