This is a fully live video. We recorded our audio on our iPhones...and Jonny Koh is a mixing/mastering wizard. Filmed by Wesley Diaz Audio Mixed/Mastered by Jonny Koh Edited by Matine Kazemi
At first I was so sure this had to be a mixture of lipsync and post matching - like the acoustics of the van CANT be that good, and if the trumpet had a mic itd HAVE to be picking up on the other noises. And then you hit 1:50, Gracie leans away from her mic, and you get this perfect little imperfection that is too precise to be a lipsync, and everything clicks and you’re like holy shit man. This is not a gimmick. Maybe everything was recorded on separate tracks and isolated (like the trumpet) and maybe touched up in post, but this was not lipsynced at all. This was a groovy funky LIVE performance caught and mixed. I fucking love these cats.
They rolled out the tech you're taking about 2 years ago on their tour where you, at the show, can listen to the house mix, or your own mix, on headphones LIVE. They made a video to ad this feature: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b9qvh5dcg6w.html
OK, I’m 64 and a drummer and has always loved jazz and blues. About a year ago or so Lawrence popped up on my RU-vid feed. Can I just say that they are one of the best bands out there right now! Their vocal arrangements along with their musical arrangements are off the charts! This band just plays great music.
CONGRATULATIONS to the BAND for playing in such outlandish positions, to Gracie for a stunning iPhone vocal, and to the CAMERA PERSON for following this intricate music video story! YOU. GUYS. ROCK!
My local Safeway was playing 23 while I was grocery shopping yesterday, and there I was lipsynching in the frozen section doing my best Gracie inspired dance moves thinking "Wow Lawrence really has hit the big time!" Congratulations folks!!!
I really do not think I could sleep in a cubicle on a moving bus. What our favorite artists do to bring the magic to our local venues. And we love you for it ❤
Love the concept! That was really fun! I said this on the short too, but kudos to Clyde for his Summit Ice shirt too. Always love seeing others that appreciate people that graduate from business school with really good grades.
okay yes Gracie absolutely slayed this but I am shocked at how nice the musicians sounded playing while lying down! 😂 I've never tried to play my clarinet laying down, I'll have to give it a go
There is something about how she carries herself that is so entertaining. I saw them live at a Jon Bellion concert and I had never heard of them. Very cool to see a full band of people and not just the lead singer all the time.
Good version. This song is a classic already, and to think it only came out 4 months ago. This band will have an amazing catalogue after a few more years of writing songs like this.
Yes, yes, yes!!! Thank you so much for posting all of this here on RU-vid! Was so excited to see the teaser vids earlier :-) love this, and love you all!!🙏🏼🎷👍👍🔥🙌🥳🙌🎶🎵🎹🎹🙏🏼🎷☮️🕺👍🎸😎💜💜💜💜🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Back in the 80s, George Thorogood band did a 50/50 tour. Played a show in fifty States in fifty days, only they traveled in a Checker automobile for 48 of the legs. The bus looks cozy. Oh, they also added one more show in DC.
Great song, great video! I really love these casual and low production videos. It's so much more real than quick cutting CGI over production nonsense that some people think that's what they have to do. Ya'll da best!❤❤❤❤
