They share the same Machiavellian nature about the ends justifying the means. The difference between the two is that Nixon wanted to better the nation and did to some extent in the midst of his fatalistic nature which ultimately forced him out of office. But if Trump, aged 31 I believe in 1977, heard this remark of Nixon's during the interview, that would certainly have appealed to his long since established perversion of narcissism. I also wonder if this remark had any influence on the perversion of the Obscene Court's presidential immunity decision. The idea of presidential immunity traces back to the 19th century like many other draconian ideas though I don't know how much it progressed between then and now.

Trump uses people's good nature against them. He exploits the fact that many people can't picture a candidate being so reprehensible so it must mean that he is not as bad as they think. To many he represents a physical manifestation of every child's dream to be in complete undisciplined control, with money to buy anything they want anytime night or day. In my early forties, I had to care for my grandmother who had dementia because both my parents died early. It was exhausting and 24/7. For five years every moment I was not at work I was with her. I missed so many of my growing family’s events because leaving the house scared her to death. We did not have the money for extra help. While all my friends were taking family vacations and living life, I had a very different story. My precious grandmother is now gone but hearing about the VP’s plan for in-home health care is a transformative plan and I dearly hope that American families will have this option… no one should have to struggle like my grandmother and I did. I would have preferred Joe Biden for a second term provided the MS media had not so irresponsibly run him out of the race, causing the most intelligent political minds in the country (Raskin, Obama, Pelosi...) to hesitate instead of rally hard and fast behind him. It didn't take long for their inaction to validate the media's sensationalism and the public's anxiety and from there Biden's re-election bid was doomed. However, I do believe their motives could not be any purer; staving off Trump for another four years and hopefully any future runs. I don't think they do that if someone respectable was leading the GOP ticket. But thankfully Biden did bring Harris onboard. I have no problem with a strong no nonsense woman, well prepared and running on the democratic ticket. The transition could not have gone any smoother and no campaign time was lost. I believe she will save democracy. @@skolhundarnapavato i sure wish it was that way here in the US, but we can't have what EVERY OTHER MODERN NATION seems to have had for ages because one of our two main political parties values profit over ANY other consideration. it's evil.
