Very interesting to see. NYC also has some century-old Els which will have to be replaced at some point in the future. I can imagine that it will be a tremendous pain seeing as some of the elevated lines here have very high ridership, so closing the line for reconstruction will severely disrupt the commute of thousands. When NYC eventually upgrades their Els, they should takes notes from Chicago.
