Just started watching but one thing I must question is “What does it (the verse) mean to me?” The proper question is what does it mean FOR me? This change speaks to the authority of Scripture. As written the question invites a totally subjective response. Then a verse can mean anything depending on the person answering. If this is God’s Word then our concern becomes “What do we do.” Just a thought ...... MikeinMinnesota
The BIBLE is an inspired Literature- written in different forms of Literary Devices: poetry, historical narrative, parables, LAWS, metaphor & simile, discourse that employs symbolism and prophetic parlance; SOME of these can be interpreted literally, some are symbolical in meaning...
The Bible's true love interpretation is only revealed to those that are born of the spirit, also known as awakened, or baptized by the Holy Ghost. It's that simple and verified multiple times in the bible. This is why we have tens of thousands of church denomination's murmuring over pharaseetical nonsense. This book can't be interpreted like a normal historical text because it is not. It is sacred. You won't ever see the "magic" in it unless you have the magic in "you" Romans 2:27-29 The one who is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the WRITTEN CODE and circumcision, are a lawbreaker. A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, BY THE SPIRIT, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but FROM GOD.
Here's a thought, how about you stop interpreting the Bible and let it mean what it says. Pro 30:6 'Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.' Rev 22:18-19 'For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book'
@@michaelarivony7409 my comment do not have to do with 'what' laws. It has to do with how a person defines a "law". In science "laws" do not do what a person wants them to do. We have to understand them and learn how to apply them correctly. "Laws" of biblical interpretation are often dependent on the theology of a specific group. For that not to happen, the "laws" of biblical interpretation would have to be part of a coherent system for analyzing textual data and it does not matter who uses it (regardless of denomination) the result should be the same.
@@pedromoralesmko you are right. That is how it should be, and that was how it was during the APOSTOLIC times, because they lived in the necessary context that made that possible for them. Is it possible to do that now. Yes, of course. But it demands more work than just reading, and most people are lazy. Another side is some churches have so much to gain by twisting it. So even if the system to analyse Scripture with an unbiased way exists, they will refute that because what matters to them is not the doctrine but to uphold their tradition and their "income". I have always taught my bible study group to look at the Bible like any other book on earth: with its own context, its own message and its own story. The goal is not to impose whatever on it, but rather to understand what it said at the time it was written. Meaning, we have to do the research available to us: history, literature, language and so on... That is the way to do it. And it wouldn't matter whether you are protestant, Catholic or anything
@@pedromoralesmko my Bible study groupe is a home bible study. I lead it. I have many people from many church traditions (from Catholics, to Protestants). And once I talk about this contact and reading the Bible without the glasses of tradition, they start to realise that there are things that are not biblical in the way they were taught to worship or to the way to salvation.
Not a good or accurate instructor. why you may ask,? God made Man In His Image do we take that literally or figuratively but he skipped over that part didn't he?
