A trip from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on the Flyaway bus to Union Station downtown, followed by a ride on the Red Line subway to Hollywood and Highland in Hollywood. Note the multiple-terminal pick-up, the freeway traffic downtown, and the detour of the bus through unpacked downtown streets.

Jesus Christ this is a huge city wow. Compared to Reykjavik, Iceland where I am from. I've been to Beijing,Shanghai and new York and even Mexico city and they were huge. But this has endless freeways and neighborhoods around it, wow. I wanna go to LA some time, but wow. I hope I won't get lost there.

Gelato Musica I don't even remember leaving that comment, but yeah....I try to avoid the 405 if at all possible. And I pay attention to what day and time it is before deciding to use the 101 through Downtown. I don't go to LA that often but I have gone to Disneyland many times over the past several years, so I have to use LA freeways to do it. I come from the north so I stay in the farthest left lane at the 405 interchange and use the 134 to get to the 5.......unless it's a Sunday morning and there is no special event going on in Downtown...then I might cut through that way.

Total cost; $4.50 Regular Fare $3.00 Student Fare, and 75 cents Senior Citizen Fare. You have to pay $1 extra for a TAP (transit access pass) card if you if you don't have one already. TAP is your ticket.

The carpool lanes on the 110 Freeway are now Express Lanes. More rewards for carpoolers, more choices for solo drivers, more frequent transit service. If Metro then decides to convert the Interstate 105 Carpool Lanes into Express Lanes, at the area near where the airport is, where you saw the sign that says "Begin Carpool Lane 4000 Ft" the sign will be replaced by a new sign that says "Express Lane begins 4000 Ft" and will say "FasTrak Only" as well as "No Cash" altogether on the sign.

There's always some sort of seismic activity, but the roads are just shit regardless. Constant traffic, and 85+ degree temperatures for 80% of the year doesn't help.

You could also take the 1) LAX Shuttle G Bus to the 2) Metro Green line Aviation/LAX Station, and then take a Norwalk bound train to Willobrook Station, go downstairs ant take the 3) Metro Blue Line. Next, you take a Los Angeles bound train to 7th St. Metro Center Station which is downtown. And finally, go downstairs and take a North Hollywood bound Metro Red Line train. Here's the hard part. You have to listen to an announcement that says,"The train to North Hollywood is now arriving..."

man every year for the summer i go to L.A. and stay for a couple of days.and i remeber the first time when i wnet i took the amtrak bus there cause i was to nervous to drive there,but i totally regret doing that cause we were going from bus to bus to subway just to get around the city. and it was extremely tiring.i live in visalia,ca and i was like heck no i driving there from now on.. i tell you if your gonna be walking make sure to take a bottle of water cause it's a shit load of walking..

I agree with you dude. There are some people who just hate america and personally I respect their opinion as every citizen of this planet is entitled to their opinion. My favorite part of this video is 32:31, the shot of National Cold Storage. That's as bleak and decrepit an industrial scene as you could ever see. For somebody, that place is the Real L.A. (And I just read it's out of business!)

TO have a nice house, you even can't imagine how long you will have to work just to get a better paid. Don't forget even they say it is melting pot, but immigrants will always be only immigrants. Only if you are enormous genius and you are very smart, Americans will accept you as some smart Iraqi and you will get paid well. If you work from the bottom up, it can take decades to build some stable financial base upon your feet.
