We got the medium clever spa one for our paris tub and it's the perfect fit and tbh keeps the heat in really well plus we haven't really noticed any change in colour either from uv? Yeah for sure the lazy spa one will be better as it's purpose built for their spas and is a better quality material etc however it is FIVE times the price! So yeah clever spa will do us nicely m8 👍😎🍺☀️
Hi Ronnie, Give it till the end of summer and the Clever spa cover will be worse for wear, ours has faded and ripped. Holding it together with duct tape. I could just bin it as we have the Lay-Z-Spa one as well but as I have both I might as well double it up. But if you were to go for one I would recommend the Lay-Z-Spa for durability instead of replacing the Clever spa every year. All the best Dave
I bought two of the clever spa ones for my square lay-z-spa hawaii and double them up - like you say you have to add some straps to make them fit snug- but two clever spa covers are still cheaper one of the lay-z-spa covers. I'm hoping two are better than the one for heat loss. Its under a gazebo so rain and UV exposure should be minimal.
Hi Richard, I find that the Clever Spa are susceptible to UV and only last one year possibly two but if you keep yours under a gazebo that could well be enough to prevent UV damage. I found having both did help If I were to only get one I wound go for the Lay-Z-Spa for longevity. All the best Dave
I have the barbados pay z spa which comes insulated with the 40% entry saving claim. Feels a cheek to have to pay extra for their cover for another 40%! Currently have a clever spa cover and it's sitting on 50mm Kingspan with thick playground rubber tiles on top. I it loses about 1-2° a day. When the clever spa cover gives way I'll replace with the lay z spa version.
Hi Swirleyful, I would love to see your setup if you can post a photo from Google drive or Instagram link as it sounds like you are really going for the efficiency with the 50mm Kingspan insulation :) When you do get your Lay-z-spa cover let us know :) Also hope you subscribe as we have more Lay-z-spa videos on the way All the best David
Hi as the cleverspa cover is slightly larger than the lay z spa thermal cover, wondered what effect having two covers would do, ie have the lay spa first and then put on the cleverspa thermal cover on top, have you tried this or could you try this? Like to see what happens to the thermal efficiency??
Hi Keith, As I have both I do put both on, its a bit more work but easy enough to do. It does help to have both. I lose about 2-3 degrees overnight so about double the efficiency of just one. Heats up about 2.5 degrees an hour maybe faster than that but about the same as just with the Lay-Z-Spa cover. If you only get one get the Lay-Z-Spa as it will have the best thermal efficiency and durability. If you want both go for it. I was just about to buy the Cleverspa one you have, but will go with the Lazy Spa one, as I also have the Milan and was worried about the Cleverspa being a bad fit ! Have built a surround for my Milan with 4 by 2 frame and featheredge boards, just need to paint it grey - should tie in nicely with the grey Lazy Spa cover !
Hi NMACog, glad we were able to put your mind at ease and steer you in the right direction. Hi Karen, The simple answer is I don’t. I am not a Spa expert so I can’t give advice on water treatment but this is what I do. When starting off I tested the water more regularly but as I got used to the Spa and conditions with use so I test less and less. Now after every used I top up with a sprinkling of Chlorine, Algicide, Clarifier and Foam Remover. Then test before and after any party. Hope this helps all the best Dave
Many thanks for the video. I have one arriving next week for our Hawaii Airjet. How do you have your lid rounded like that (to keep rain water off)? Is it just the inflatable lid?
Hi Alan, Thanks for your comments, I just over inflated the Spa and Lid a little whiles getting ready for filming and did not notice until after filming. Never did it any harm and still like it. It does not make any real difference to keeping the rain off. I hope you subscribed as we now have our Spa running for FREE and might even get paid to heat it video in production now. We are getting ever closer to our 1k mark so every sub counts :) All the best Dave
