So actually, there are 4 types : rollups, sidechains, plasma and channels. Which are more effective in which? I just learnt they are different but what is more effective in what case? (just like you compared carrying lumber is more effective carried by a truck)

‘Platform’. ‘Blockchain’, or simply ‘chain’. ‘Network’. ‘Protocol’. Sometimes even ‘hub’. I’ve found that these terms often and casually are used synonymously when referring to one or the other. My experience is solely due to my own lack of understanding no matter how you look at it, but it has been rather confusing at times. Have I got this right? Network = The collection of a specific main chain and all its layers? Protocol = How a blockchain operates? Or a blockchain unorthodox / specialized / unique in the way it operates? Blockchain = Solely used in reference to a specific chain? Neglecting any and all of its layers? Platform = Is it what the user navigates to interact with the code? As in ‘’User Platform’’ or ‘’User Interface’’? Platform = UIX? Hub = A platform built around a module created specifically for the sole purpose of efficiently exchanging data by connecting instances otherwise not connected? Lika a forum or a financial exchange?
Thanks. Learning L2 is really a painful story for the brain and it's very confusing too. Spent dozens of hours to got all details I needed. This video just fixed my last (idiot) unknowns. Feels better once the map is revealed.
Knowingly it would be difficult to provide technical depth of how these things work in a 7 minutes video. But being that many of these concepts are summarized, I think it would be good to provide final thoughts about these pieces of architecture, rather than the viewer fully believing these things are doing what they say they can do. Layer 2s and Rollups for instance do have drawbacks, at the end of the day you are making a compromise in security, decentralization or scalability.
