In this video I will show you how to create two different milk paint (casein tempura) recipes to get that centuries old texture seen on the finest European Techniques. I will take you through how to use these natural paints to get that gorgeous chipped away effect through the monochromatic layers. Lastly I will walk you through in detail, how I distress the piece for a refined authentic patina. For the project I wanted to use a piece that is widely refinished in the decorative art world, so I chose a 1920's Jacobean Walnut Buffet. My hopes is that you take the wealth of information in this video, combined with my previous videos, and get the confidence to finally execute those intimidating finishes seen on luxury antique furnishings in your favorite magazines & books.
