Hi everyone! Thank you so much for watching! I hope you're all doing well and hanging in there. ❤️ I mentioned in the video that I oven processed the soap and accidentally left the oven light on all night (the oven was OFF but the light was left on). It's amazing how just the light helps keep the oven warm for so long. I usually don't use the light at all or turn it off after about 3 to 4 hours. Because I left it on, my soap went through a prolonged gel phase and ended up with slight glycerin rivers in the drop swirl (because of the added water from the extra clay) and a little discoloration in the top orange layer. Neither are noticeable now, but you can definitely see it during the cut, so I wanted to mention it in case it was helpful to you. 😊
I can remember (not so far away haha) as I began in soap challenge club to participate I see first your soap in brush embroidery technic and was totally fascinated how clean and perfect your soaps are. Every time I see a new soap creation from you I'm enjoy and in love with - so this one is exactly that what I LOVE, Tina
You are the most talented soap maker, and your videos are so beautifully done! A lot can be learned through soothing music, few words, and perfect technique.
@@hollysoapmaking you are a true inspiration to me. I just revisited molding my soap in a milk carton. It was a 1/2 gallon carton, so I cut into 4" bars, then cut into 2" bars, cleaned them up, and I have the neatest tall skinny bars from a 4.00 mold. 😉
I could watch your videos for days on end. They are stunning and so informative. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. You make stunning soaps. 😊
Thank you so much! I should definitely include that in my video when I do a soap like this. I usually do several drawings and edit them until I finally decide on something I like.
Oh sweet Holly, what a beautiful soap and as always a calming and teaching video. I was sure the feather swirls were small bees and butterflies, so cute. I was imagining me doing all that work and making the greatest mess ever with hard batter as a result😂. Better watching you but I do love a drop swirl and will be doing that next, maybe even with the layers. Thank you again for taking the time making such an amazing soap and video❤️🙏🏼
Thank you so much, Mag! I was so surprised by how the feather swirls turned out. I definitely made a huge mess with this soap! 😂 Thank you for always leaving such kind and encouraging comments! 💕😊
C'est un magnifique savon ! Bravo ! On pourrait croire que ce sont des petites abeilles en vol. J'approuve totalement le choix que vous faîtes d'utiliser des argiles pour colorer les savons.
I recently made your three oil soap. It was my first soap! I hope it turns out great, even though the lye was a little cool when mixing (probably because I used all ice, although I probably should’ve done half ice half water). Anyways, I was wondering if you’ve ever made shampoo bars? If not, you really should! Thanks as always for the great videos! Have a great day/night :)
I hope your soap turned out well! I've only made one shampoo bar, but it's been a few years. I keep saying I need to try another one. Thank you for watching!
Thank you for explaining how to access the "description box" on computer and cell phone. Took me forever to figure this out...I am relatively new to UTube.
Hi Holly, this is beautiful 😍! The hanger swirls look like birds and butterflies to me, I guess some see a little different things lol. This so amazing I love it! The colors are nice, kinda fall or Holloween. I hope you and your family are safe and doing well in this time of uncertainty?! Stay safe and I look forward to your next video. 😊🥰
Thank you so much! I was definitely in a Fall/Autumn state of mind when I came up with the color palette. I hope you and your family are doing well, too! I sure hope things return to normal soon. 💕😊
Hey Holly May I ask what do you do with your extra colorant that you have left over. Are you able to store it for later use for another store soap or do you just get rid of it? Reason why am asking is because I plan on starting a small soap business and it just seems like it’s such a waste if it goes in the trash but if it could be saved I would like to know how and for how long
Sure! If I mix the colorant with oil, I usually make a lot to save and use up over a few weeks to a month. If I'm using clays and mixing with water, I only make a small amount and always use it up that day (water can grow bacteria quickly and I worry about it causing bad spots in the soap). You can always add the clay dry, though...it just takes a bit of mixing to work out the specks. Hope this helps!
Holly - Kapia Mera Soap yes that help a lot. I’m still learning so much about making soap. I just started making soap in March of this year. My family love the soaps. I’ve even made baby soap for my Two little ones and their skin loves it. I just make simple soaps for now. Nothing fancy like yours. You, Katie Carson and soap 101 and some others have taught me a lot. Please keep up the wonderful work.
Hello, I have an inquiry When the soap lasts with me when exposed to any temperature from -25 and above and dyes like oil, why is this so and what is the solution
Lots of things contribute - the oils I use, how long I blend, temperature, water, etc. It just takes practice. Sometimes I blend too long and end up with a batter that's too thick. Here's an article about this on Modern Soapmaking that might help - bit.ly/3bFOg09 😊 Oh and Lisa of I Dream in Soap on RU-vid made a video about trace where she shows each stage in detail that may also be helpful - bit.ly/3bHB0b9
