The setup of the cooker reminds me of the fire stoves that are common in the very cold climate of the far north. They are, essentially, variations on a rocket mass stove. They take a while to heat up, but can be maintained by a small, HOT fire twice a day. There isn’t much fuel in those areas, so people focus on keeping themselves warm, instead of warming space, and usually sleep on the warm top of the stove. The mass absorbs the heat, spreads it out, and releases it slowly and evenly for hours. Mark Twain marveled at them.
Good morning. As usual, I find the construction projects fascinating. Danny's array of skills is amazing. I can't choose between his projects or Miss Wanda's canning as my favorite.
Great job on door, has a nice design, this is an art. My Dad could make anything. He replaced the door on our wood furnace for the house, which was in the basement, because no one made them anymore, also made grates for same.
Good morning Danny and Wanda great to have some good help. Going to be a good build. You are so good to Wanda been able to make her anything she needs. God bless . Love
Ethnic brethren around here never had anything this fancy. Used 3-4x.yr for sausage mostly. Basic wooden shack in the backyard. *You seem to be going for a food village processing enterprise, which is much needed. Brick was ready & waiting for it. *You guys havin' way too much fun creating & collaborating. Good for you; very much deserved. -- 💌🍒
I have an itch at the back of my neck that Oscar might bring all the rain you want - and then some. If Oscar doesn’t get you, Patty might. I’m praying that you get abundant showers of blessings without any storm damage.
My Scott is a master of all things with small engines and lawnmowers, weed eaters, etc. It sure made us a lot of extra cash on the side through the years. Only thing he gets frustrated easily. It sure is handy to have a little skill in different areas. Good job Danny.
Mornin Danny!! Looks great! I got a new Evaporator for Maple syrup up here in Ohio...built new sugarhouse...cant wait til maple season in spring. God bless!
Good morning over my pumpkin spice coffee! This next sip is for you. I love how Danny does all these projects for you Wanda. My X-husband is not well so I never get projects unless I pay someone to help. Nonetheless, I keep plugging away.
It is very dry in Kansas also. Farmers here do not much mind because it is the end of the growing season here, but I can see that the South might suffer from it!
You’re very, very lucky Danny that your morning temps are in the forties. Where I’m at the morning temps are in the high sixties and getting up into the nineties during the day. I doubt we’ll even have a freeze this winter. It seems the summers here are getting longer and longer and hotter and hotter here. I doubt I will ever see a cold winter again in my lifetime. I’ve lost so many trees this year and my prize sixty year old pecan tree my dad planted. The only thing I’ve got is a bumper crop of grassburrs.
That’s the result of his OCD, which is a GOOD THING in construction. I have witnessed the results of sloppy work; it would have been better not to have done it at all, just for the waste of resources.
IMO, when you’re laying blocks and bricks for your own personal use on your own dime and time is a REALLY GOOD time to have ocd. The little bit of particular attention to detail now will have consequences for the life of your work.
