I have always felt that Eric's soloing here--especially when his back is turned to the audience---has such a much more intimate feel, as if he is playing for Pattie alone, or maybe just to himself as he reminisces about the whole affair. There is such a gentle quality to his playing that to me, it appears that he is still very much in love with her, and always be. David Sancious' guitar playing is just so good, and then he and Billy take us through the iconic Piano Exit" with stereo pianos. Simply sublime.
@@mysterj1 - Thank you. I know the name but didn't know it was him. But from the first beat, something about his backbeat... I don't know. He says a lot with so little. I'll have to refresh on his history. EDIT: ah, 'deep pocket groove'. No wonder I felt it.
Many love the intro and other facets of this song, but I have always loved the last half of it...at 4:46 onwards till the end. The keyboards and Eric's guitar in tandem... Simply magical!
I was frankly more impressed with David's contribution to this particular piece than with Eric's, and that's saying a hell of a lot! They're all brilliant musicians! 👑🎸🎹🥁👑
This is such a timeless music experience that once had, you can never get over. If I were to offer my thumb to Mr. Clapton as a teacher's offering, it'd still not suffice. That's the magnitude of the changes he's brought in my life. I love him a lot more than I probably should.
Für mich, eines der besten Konzerte die letzten 25 Jahren. Alle Musiker sind gut drauf, und bieten einen unvergesslichen Abend. Clapton ist einer der besten….. und Kenner wissen es,
The goddamn swag....❤ Tunes, let's the band know...ok ... we're doing this thing.. everyone on point? Cool, and turns around and lays out one of the most iconic riffs ever.....I hope I die before him...
