I just... want to share a thing I was witness to. So, my friend wants to summon for Layla and has 57 wishes saved up. First 10-pull... second... The third one turns gold - it's Childe. When we calm down, there is a question of whether to summon more. "I mean, it's very unlikely that this one is go-" It's gold. It's another Childe. We laugh, if whatever was happening back then can be called "laughing". She presses the button again. ... It's gold again. I think we've broken the rates. It's also Childe again. No Layla still. 7 pulls left. She collects 3 more. She presses the button... It lags. I hold my breath; it's purple. Layla appears on the screen - she is in the first wish. I kind of lost my voice during all this.
I had a very similar thing happen to me on the zhongli/Ganyu banner. I got my zhongli but was still trying to get c2 on my beidou, so I figured I would summon on ganyu even though I was “meh” about getting her. Immediate gold. Ganyu, no Beidou. Thought no way that happens again. Another Ganyu, still no Beidou. Ganyu is my only non-standard banner five star constellation and I still don’t have C2 Beidou 😅
Why would they? No guarantees means more money for them. And the player base isn’t just gonna up and leave because of it, so they’re not pressured to do anything.
@@razor5694 For a C6 4* on one single banner, not really. The whales are the extreme exception to this and it lets him create content so really it is a win-win. He makes way more than what he spent on videos like this.
If I had a nickel for every time Xlice had an apocalyptic wishing session for a Cryo 4-star, I'd have two nickels. ...Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
These videos serve as a very real warning against pulling just for a banner 4 star. I was fortunate and got the one copy i wanted of Layla after 3 ten pulls.
i only allowed myself 40 pulls and actually got pretty lucky with a c2 Layla and a Miko on 38 pity (which was a 50-50!) Wishing the same and even more luck for everyone else!! 🙏
Omg I had almost exactly the same experience I was only going to use 40 wishes and I got 2 Layla, 1 Thoma (I did want him tho) and a Yae Miko at 31 pity on 50/50 lmao
Everytime I think "Genshin is aggressively monetized, but not insidiously monetized since you can play it pretty solidly with little to no money spent...." I see one of these videos. I know that this is whaling for content and all, but part of me is still just sad that $1000 dollars gets you so little. I still like that I can get a fair number of characters c0 for my little welkin pass.... but wow these things are always painful to watch. Time to leave a comment and a like so you can maybe YT algorithm some of the money back
SAME!I did 200 pulls AND spent $200 for a million heizou, million thomas and a punch other shit favonius weapons I already have r5. All I wanted was c1 layla. Fuck that man I gave up, saving rest for scara. Never ever pulling for 4* cons again.
I literally got her on my 4th pull (single) and tbh I was completely not expecting for her to come because I was hoping for thoma or heizou cons but oh well 😅😅
@npdoxt precisely. in Kazuha's banner, i wanted ningguang, got kazuha, thoma and heizou. (i was pissed off until i learned how good kazuha was lmaooo) this time, i expected to be cursed by thoma's. got a thoma and a layla in 12 pulls
I just wanted to share my pain so as I was hesitating to go for Childe (had 40 pity+55 wishes so guaranteed but was on 50/50) i decided to try and get Layla. third wish is (43 pity) gold and my non luck belief flew away as i got my first and probably last early 5*, but then i silently died as Diluc appeared on the screen. it could've been Keqing, tighnari, qiqi, mona, jean, or even Childe, but no it was my second ever diluc and only standard 5* i have (I started playing late April so I don't have much 5*) yes the only 5* I just hate and will never like. he was already not built and now he's c1:D yay pain thanks for reading 👁️💧👄💧👁️
I feel this pain because I hit pity twice (lost my 50/50 to Tighnari which I'm not mad about b/c I didn't have him yet) so I got two 5stars, Thoma at C6 and Heizou, who I also didn't have before, is at C3 now. Meanwhile Layla is C0 and I feel cheated by this game lmao The summon session went by in such a blur that I forgot I had Yae now and was suuper confused when she showed up as a companion for my Serenitea Pot a day later..... 😭
Mixed feeling here, today i wished for Layla but instead of her got 3 - 5* ( diluc, yae and tighnari) in 15 pulls & now I'm afraid to wish because it's a guaranteed pity for scara
That drove me crazy because I don't want them ( i already have) but still got them by single pull (15 pulls in total) & now I'm not going to pull till next update cuz how it went today 🤪
@@amaze3788 That isn't the issue. The issue is that it can take 400$ to even get C0 for a new 4* or even more. Happiness or not, that is pretty absurd, and yes, it is as absurd as me or anyone using that much on a game, but it feels extremely unfair when everything else has a pity system.
1 year later when she finally reran again, we managed to only C3 Layla in the time/primos it took us to C1 Wanderer. If not for the fact we wanted Wanderer too, it's hard to say how much sooner we would've given up on our favorite 4 Star.
I wanted to pull for raiden but I REALLY wanted Layla. I HAD guaranteed after getting accidentally qiqied…yae miko came home on the first ten pull. She came home at 16 pity…she took my guaranteed raiden away
When I pulled for Layla I firmly said to my phone "you better not give me anyone else than layla" I got her in my second single pull and I was done👁️👄👁️my phone only loves me when it comes to 4 stars
I swear that Hoyoverse rigs their banner when there's a new 4*. I think they make it so you have way less of a chance to get the new 4* than the other two! I've been telling them on every survey that they need a pitty system for the 4*, like they have on the weapon banner. I personally would like to get Layla but I've got C1 Tartaglia and I don't want Miko so I'm not wasting my primos cuz I know I'll get a 5* before I get 1 Layla. I wish they'd add new 4* to the shop too!
Yeah when heizou first appear on banner, I cannot get even 1 heizou. When sayu first appear on banner, I cannot get her also. After that, I get them on the next banner.
i got 4 Layla’s (c3) after getting Childe, Yae, and BOTH of their weapons. and i only got the FIRST Layla in the same multi as Childe. it feels like a lot of ppl are having bad luck with her
pulling for Yae, somehow got C2 and her weapon in 210 pulls, and with a shiny new C5 Layla, no way I'm trying for C6 after watching this update: got C6, thanks mihoyo update: also got C3 Yae, she's crazy bruh
I used up all my saved up wishes for raiden (30 wishes) to get Layla, ended up with C3 heizou and kuki shinobu, no Layla.. I decided to stop wishing in case I accidentally get a five star
this really reminds me of rosaria summon session.. spend like 80 summons and got 5 stars and rosaria still didn't come.. and finally got one copy in standard banner, until today my rosaria is still C0...it is rigged for new 4 stars no matter what mihoyo said.
Happened to me twice. Yanfei and Kuki (15 or more 4* and non of them new character). Never got them first time on release while banner lasted. I also have some strange luck of pulling out any units that i don't have from standard banner. Got Layla as second 4* drop this time (Shenhe got new toy to play) and she doesn't look as 4* at all.
you've convinced me....i currently got 28,000 primos saved up..saving for staff of homa for my hutao...maybe when she comes i'll have guaranted and get it! probably...lol...so i did a single ten pull..got thoma twice...i said nope...forget layla....i'll get her some other time..your video convinced me to save XD
did 80 pulls in childe banner and only got 1 layla as well, c6-ed thoma, heizou, and got childe in the process. im pretty sure they did smth to lessen layla chances here bec no way in hell
I feel you on this. My goal going into this banner was getting a single Layla, Heizou from C3 to C6, a single Childe con if possible and most importantly get Thoma from C5 to C6. Thoma had been heavily alluding me before to the point where i got C2 from his original banner as well as a C1 Hu Tao that I never use. My session ended after 184 rolls with two Childe cons, C5 Layla, C11 Heizou and finally that C6 Thoma on the 184th roll 🥲
My first 10 pull for Layla I got off banner Diona instead and had to question what the universe was trying to tell me about which cryo shielder to use.
I got 7 Thoma’s before I got my first 5* on Thoma’s original banner. I got 5 more Thoma’s before I got a single Yae Miko this time, and I didn’t get a Layla until 20 Simmons past Yae. And I somehow got more of The Bell while hunting for Layla than anything else.
