What I like best is that for all the tweets about how ”flamboyant” (read: gay) Layton is, Nikita is, you know, kind of a huge showoff. Compared with someone like, say, Kai, everything with him is pouting and hair-flips and “here, look at my abs” billowy shirts-and in all his previous partnerships, he’s kind of had to downplay that. With Layton, he’s finally dancing with someone who matches that “Check me out” energy and lets him cut loose.
Nikita is pretty much competing with Layton. He knows Layton can take the toughest challenge, so the performance intensity and professionalism on show is of the highest calibre. They are behaving like Olympic athletes on the same team.
WOW! Wow, wow, wow!! This is week 2, dudes! Slow down!! So good! No, AMAZING! And not just Layton's dancing ability. Let's talk about Nikita's choreography here! Wow!! Where did that come from, Nikita?! You outdid yourself! That choreography was spectacular!
I was worried about what some of the comments might say, because it’s two guys dancing together… but as a gay guy that always had to hide growing up because it felt ‘wrong’… I am so encouraged by the love for a purely awesome dance 😎👍
there’s surprisingly very little homophobic comments but thats because they’ve turned into the people who complain about dance experience. they’re using that to hide their true views.
@tureforest8297 Layton and Nikita are my favourites this year. Feels like I'm a bit of both of them. I'm gay(like Layton) and diabetic(like Nikita who's my favourite pro dancer)
I am a straight female and two men dancing is absolutely brilliant. What I have a problem with is that Layton is a dancer he was in Billy Elliot and was trained when he was young which never leaves you I was a dancer when I was young and now I am a lot lot older I can still remember how to dance and I do. It is grossly unfair, ( when the other finalists who are just as talented but started Strictly with no dancing experience whatsoever) that Layton should win ( hopefully not) and should not have been allowed to enter strictly in the first place.
Thing is Layton is a theatre kid! He did everybody’s talking about Jamie (I saw it the one week he was off lol) and went over to America to tour on the show! It’s no wonder he’s good!
@@JaneSmith-xn1nbabout 10 million other comments say this too, we get it- you lot hate seeing successful people who aren’t straight or white! doesnt take away the fact they worked HARD and this is incredible.
@@the5thjudge why are you making this a sexuality issue? People are clear that they find his extraordinary wealth of talent and experience unfair. Nothing to do with his sexuality. This is not the first same sex couple and Layton isn't the first homosexual contestant on Strictly. Each time we've seen this on the show, they've been well received and adored by the voting public and now is the same. Pointing out Laytons obscene advantage doesn't make people homophobic
@@laalaa4303 “adored by the public” is not a sentence i would associate layton with. the public obviously don’t like him because the media has made a massive deal out of his experience but nigel, amanda and angela rippon all get out of it. same thing happened with karim- got lots of unnecessary hate and nobody raised an eyebrow at kelvin. despite AJ Odudu having NO dance experience- she was just a natural, she got a lot of bother on social media and rose sailed through perfectly fine. louise redknapp didn’t have a smooth journey from what i remember but it was okay that danny had experience. everyone was fine with faye tozers experience (even though she was trained in 12 styles) but ashley roberts posing on a stage was too much for people. all the middle aged women adored will mellor but fleur was a problem? i think its fairly obvious there is still a lot of homophobia, sexism, racism etc within the public.
In a later week, this would have been a perfect score dance, too bad it's only week 2! But here's to seeing many more incredible routines from these two!
@@woodlandbabiesAgreed! I don’t watch the live show because there’s just to much filling in and faffing around for what amounts to 22 1/2 minutes of actual dancing, so to be able to watch the dances and get the judges scores is perfect!
Wow! Wow! This will go down as one of strictlys iconic dances. Mesmerising performance. Nikita’s coreography was brilliant. I just can’t stop watching it on Utube. Brilliant
No shade to Tilly and Ellie (who I both adore) but you can tell Nikita is having so much fun with Layton as his dance partner this year. He really gets to go all out on the choreo with him and it's lovely to see
i just cant get over how incredible this partnership is. i saw someone say nikita looks like he isnt enjoying being partnered with layton and i just think that couldnt be further from the truth, hes clearly having a great time.
Score - *9/10* Honestly I was tempted to give a 10, it didn't just slay the house down it SLAYED THE DANCEFLOOR DOWN, such strong topline and frame and so many tricks with difficult footwork with such flair and speed around the floor. I loved the Jazz elements at the beginning and the sharp locksteps and pendulum. The ending was incredible honesty just fabulous and almost very moving. I feel alot of connection and partnership with Layton and Nikita already. Potential winners written all over them 💅🏼
WOW WOW WOW. I've missed a lot of this series and am now obsessed with going back watching all of Layton & Nikita's routines, they are incredible!! This is absolutely amazing, I can't believe it's from week 2, looks like a semi final performance at least. And hands down my favourite choreography for a quickstep ever, the musicality is outstanding.
Absolutely astonishing, had a real feel of the Nicholas Brothers, oozed class and synchronicity, timing was bang on and the flow around the room was brilliant. Choreography was complex and the partnership between them just clicks.
I wish they had a ‘judges cam’ for moments like this. I could see the ladies stood up in the background at one point, but would love to see the full reaction 😊 Amazing dance!
It’s like they are on their own show. The talent this year is very high. Many wonderful partnerships, but these two are truly special. It’s like watching two pros. Nikita must be so thrilled to not have to hold back. I just worry about the votes. Don’t assume they will be safe. Many resent having trained dancers on the show. The growth will be harder to detect compared to non dancers. I just feel that a final without these two would be a travesty.
This is absolutely incredible. So amazing, I can't even find words for it. I don't even know, who's the pro and who's the layperson. It's second to none and for me already the champion!!! Bravo!!!
For the longest time, my absolute favourite quickstep was Harry Judd's on season 9; it was deceptively difficult, his frame was top notch and his footwork was quality. I think Layton's takes the cake.
The thing is I could literally watch Layton and Nikita for HOURS. These two PUT on a show, and as a viewer I can’t get enough. They have EVERYTHING, final HERE they come.
@@LovedByYouif there was I'd go. I don't bother with stories outside the programme(takes away the fun of strictly) but it said Layton might have fell in love with Nikita (i know Nikita is straight but if he was gay i probably would feel the same)
They are amazing and this is an amazing performance with great choreography from Nikita. I just want to watch their dances over and over again because they are so good.
*_that’s_*_ how you close the show! Layton smashed it. And huge well done to Nikita for coming up with the choreography! It was absolutely sensational!_
9 WOW! It’s rare I pull out a 9 in Week 2, let alone Craig! Everything about that performance was amazing! Great footwork, great frame, very fun to watch, they’re the ones to beat right now!
This is gonna go down in strictly history I mean four 9s on WEEK TWO. And Lakita deserved every single one of them! Dance of the night with ellie for sure!
Now that is how it’s done. What a remarkable dance, he’s just so... just extraordinary at this. His footwork I thought was so good, the timing was great. I mean take a look at that. I mean where oh where does Nikita get these kind of teaching techniques- he’s just proved to him that he can dance and can he? Oh yes he can! ❤❤ These two are so good. This series is gonna be epic. Cannot wait for more to come! These two have potential. They are on the way to victory I reckon ❤ IN-CRE-DI-BL-E! ❤❤❤
Unfortunately he won't win, but hopefully he gets far. Having celebs who can dance is always destined, but you do get the most amazing dances from them
@@ebonyeyes1986 oh please, pack it in, did you not notice how hard Nikita is working him in the training clips!!!! Layton does not know eery single move and its obvious Nikita is training him well in the things he needs to learn , they were simply outstanding .
The essence of what makes Strictly so entertaining & compelling to watch is the casting of opposing camps - the pure novices & the ones who have had dance training to varying degrees (although not in ballroom/Latin). One without the other would be boring; & the viewers ultimately decide whether they prefer the week-on-week improvements of the total amateur or the experienced dancer (who can also find room to refine their technique). When a minority of the audiences decide to express outrage, I'm always humoured by their selective resentment. Jay McGuiness, Kara Tointon & Caroline Flack attended dance school; Louis Smith was an Olympic gymnast, yet nevertheless, they all still won.😊
You're hard pressed to find any actor or TV personality who hasn't had some dance training, especially the ones who have been to Italia Conti or similar. The thing is though that having a general knowledge of dancing isn't the full picture at all, you just have to listen to the celebrities say how confused they are because they were told to dance with bent legs one week and straight legs the other week, heel leads in one dance and then a complete absence of heel leads in another dance. And then if they get to the VW they have to deal with motion sickness! I find that I don't care what they have in their background, if I have enjoyed their performance then it's all good.
@@Belfastboino, we can’t. its an entertainment show for gods sake, get over it. they’ve been moaning about it for at least 10 years and nothing has been changed, constant complaining won’t do anything. just let people enjoy it.
@@the5thjudge And to be honest, the format was designed to have celebs that were a mixture of non dancers right through to those with experience. It keeps the show from being boring and at the end of the day, it's us who choose to vote who gets the final say!
Layton & Nikita are my number 1 🎉 and Ellie & Vito my number 2 🎉 and Bobby & Dianne my number 3 🎉 Despite everything, congratulations to Ellie & Vito. Layton & Nikita gave me the best there is every episode. I love them ❤❤
Y’all morning in the comments, let’s get this straight. Last year, there were no obvious contestants with training and guess what? It was boring as all hell. I think what people don’t understand is that the amateur celebrities NEED to see performance like these to give them the motivation to WANT to do better. If everyone is at the same level then there is no bar to aim for which results in less improvement (hamza is a great example, he was great but didn’t really improve that much from his salsa onwards). I am personally thrilled that strictly has someone as talented as Layton on their show and will be voting for him every week if he continues these fab performances.
What a razzle dazzle way to finish a fantastic show, a real feast for eyes and ears huge congratulations to everyone involved. You really know how to Put On The Ritz 🎉😊
It could be the ballroom choice for the final, but let’s see how the Charleston will be, I get the feeling they will do an iconic Charleston because it is more Layton’s style
Layton absolutely SMASHED this out the park I mean come onnn if this same dance was performed later on in the weeks it would’ve been straight 10’s across the board!!!
our scores: me: 9 diya: 9 kelsey: 9 owen: 10! (first of the series) 37/40 (highest of the week) there was just a bit of gapping, THATS IT. absolutely a massive middle finger to the haters. if they do this again in the final (if they make it) this needs to get 40. nikitas choreography is once again challenging but brilliant. i’m just going to say this here because it needs to be said, the dance experience police ruin this show for so many people who just want to enjoy saturday and sunday nights. at least half of this year’s contestants have dance experience yet only layton gets called out for it? if everyone was as bad as les the show would have not even half as much success as it does. layton and nikita are incredible i can’t wait for more.
You’re absolutely right, haters need to ask themselves a lot of questions. I can’t believe they’re still at it, why can’t people say something nice for once?
So good. Absolutely in love with Layton & Nikita just the BEST partnership. The energy Layton brought to this quickstep made it for me. Technically it was sublime & that's very challenging to achieve. It was tremendous 👏👏👏 Team Lakita ❤❤❤ love these lads so much.
@@taywithlove exactly you just said it doesn't mean you're going to be a huge star. Leyton is good simple you continously leaving passive aggressive negative makes zero sense
@@thekid8224 jeez I only stated at the beginning we were watching 2 professionals because we are, the rest it defending myself because you don’t like my opinion.
the moment the music started, i knew this was about to be one of the most iconic dances from strictly. god i am a SUCKER for jazz so this immediately became one of my favourite quicksteps in strictly history.
