Polishing and renewing those old scratched up Jewel Cases. How I do it and what I use. LINKS: NOVUS 2 - www.amazon.com... CD Sleeves Clear Bags - www.amazon.com...
I watch your video here before i went to bed. I had to sign in to say Thank you for those tips. Some great ideas. I to take care of my CD's but i purchase a lot of them second hand and lots are looking like you showed or worse. My big thing that i always look at is the disc itself. Scratches & scuffs i wont even buy them. Thanks to your tips i can have the jewel cases looking brand new. Have a great one.
Thank you so much for the tip..just got the stuff and started cleaning some of the cases and its just fantastic..it almost feels like I got a new cd. Awesome!
Yeah great tips Laz! I agree that jewel cases are becoming rare these days so it makes a lot of sense to renew them. I've been doing the same but Novus is a little bit expensive for me being where I am (Singapore), so I'm using a plastic polish from Meguiar's (Scratch X 2.0). Seems to work well enough although I'm not sure how they compare! I'm using Zippo lighter fluid instead of Ronsonol, seems to work just as well too, so an alternative there in case Ronsonol's not available! Peace out! \m/
Nice! Thank you for these tips. I too have been loading up on cds as people aren't buying them anymore and have so many that are in need of restored cases. Thanks for the link, too.
Another great Laz-tip. I remember a few yrs ago you did a video of how you buffed out cd's and made them look brand new as well. That was a great helpful video as well. You're quite the great idea guy on how to protect and preserve all types of media. Great video and keep showing these helpful ideas . Take care and bye for now. John :)
100% right on now being the right time to scoop up CDs. I use an old hair dryer to remove price tags and then remove the glue residue with WD40. I'll have to try the Ronsonol method. I've not bothered to try to polish any jewel cases yet. I wonder if that Novus Polish would work on hazy car headlights.
Hey thanks for the info, i recently got a Beatles reel to reel tape in a special jewel case, it had sticker on which i removed and left stickiness .I used Patex adhesive remover spray which is normally fantastic for stickiness , but it somehow melted into the case top and left it terrible and misty . i was shocked as the reel is worth around £350. I will try this stuff and see if it solves my dilema/
id love to find a way to fix hinges that arent broken but just to worn out like the jewel case when opened swings open like an immigration office before christmas
Killer shit Laz!!!! Never heard of “novus”. I recently scored 100 metal cassettes and the cases are shit! I’m going to give it a shot with that novus stuff. Thanks my brotha 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 JC/Miami
