@@user-xu3jp2kf8q it is a forward-looking weapon yes, it is not effective from the front against tanks similar to 30mm, but from the side it has a much greater chance of penetration than the standard 30mm and again, so most modern ifvs are susceptible to fire from 30mm cannons but that is changing quickly ifv new generation are basically resistant to 30mm ones as the caliber is slowly becoming useless at the same time it is exhausting its modernization potential increasing the caliber is a natural choice not without a reason Americans are also working on a similar solution in the form of the XM913

They experiment with a lot of stuff, it doesn't mean thats the way to go. As for 30mm, first of all, smaller and faster projectile have more chances to penetrate armor, than bigger and smaller one, and second - pretty much everybody on the planet use combat modules with anti tank rockets installed that work in tandem with cannon for that purpose

Serbia has ordered Russian programmable HE that is still in development and, is also simultaneously developing its own. They also stated that it would be used for anti-helo & anti-UAV work. As for ATGM's, due to the lack of gun sight, this is more than likely a development turret meant to be a placeholder until all systems are integrated such as the Serbian DNNS-2 dual Day/Thermal gun sight. Same goes for ATGM's since Serbia has recently developed it's "ALAT" ATGM, which that version is turbojet powered, and simultaneously produced the "RALAT" or Rocket-ALAT, also known as the NOVA 145, a 145mm ATGM, with 9km range, 1000mm of RHA penetration, and from the videos, a very high flight speed, making it similar to a Serbian version of the Russian Vihkr missile. This missile system can be seen on the Lazar 3 with the new modernized dual Praga 30mm turret that has NOVA 145's mounted to each side.

Actually from what i read from the company front is protected against 30mm and other sides 25 but with additional available upgrade it can be protected all around vs 30mm which is even better. The biggest issue it has right now is with the battle station being unable to be imported from Russia due to current Ukraine conflict, thats why the whole project has been put on a hold from what ive understood.

It's Kornet anyway Edepro shown an image of new ATGM in developing "Spider-M" looks very similar to MBDA MMP.

I think they will mount the NOVA 145 just like they did on the Lazar 3 with the Praga 30mm's. The NOVA 145's (RALAT / Rocket ALAT) deserve their own video. Those things fly very fast, have 1000mm of RHA penetration, and 9km of range, which remind me of a Serbian "Vikhr". I was very happy to read about their stats since up until now, Serbia has desperately needed a new ATGM. All the Malutka based ones were fine for fighting 80's tech, but even the newer tandem-warhead Malutka's that Serbia is producing, are too easy to dodge.

They are a very valuable component for any armed force and they possess a number of advantages over tracked APC/IFVs but I wouldn't include them directly in tank and mechanized units. Wheeled vehicles can't cross every type of terrain as the tracked ones, which means they wouldn't always be able to follow tanks, while on the other hand - if combined with tanks, then they lose their own advantages like higher speed, tactical and even strategic mobility.

Why pay for a vehicle that is twice as expensive when in the current battlefield the odds of getting slammed by anti-vehicle weaponry is guaranteed to happen and since neither this IFV or any of the competitors would survive such a scenario one really cannot help but wonder what then would be the justification?

We took best powering sistem from west and russian gun so we got best from both... should perform really well and this is for sure not final version bcs we always uprade our inventions, we made 10 versions of lazar 3 this will most likely get antitank missiles soon bcs we recently bought kornet

@@legio-IV-Cataphract Although Lazanski sounds like a very good IFV, nations tend to go to the already very established producers from both France, Germany or Britain. This does not mean that Yugoimport sells shoddy stuff in any sort of form. I'm pretty impressed by the Lazar 3 concept, but it will need to get some very fierce competition who themselfes are also working on future IFV and APC systems.

It's to focus fire, as Serbia already has a lot of 30mm IFV-s, the Lazanski is more used as a high priority target shooter. Not to mention it's secondary use is to be anti air, designed mostly for choppers but also could be used for drones which have exploded in use.

Russian experience in Syria has shown the larger 57mm does better against infantry due to larger explosive rounds and fragmentation ammo plus you can hit targets from further out with larger guns

57mm cannon even with an old armor-piercing projectile of the 60s of the 20th century penetrates modern Western infantry fighting vehicles, for a 30mm cannon only recently in Russia developed a sub-caliber feathered projectile BR-11 (120-140mm with 1km), whether it will be exported is unknown. before that, there were BR-6 and BR-8, modern Western infantry fighting vehicles such as puma, they do not punch in the forehead a new feathered sub-caliber projectile has also been developed for the 57 mm gun, piercing 200 mm of armor from 1.5 km, that is, this gun will penetrate any modern side of the tank calmly, and any Western infantry fighting vehicles from any angle

There will be new projectiles those are pretty old cause 57mm ammo has not be upgraded since like 1960. Programable projectiles coming first those could be pain in the ass for "enemy infantry".
