To anyone curious the pistol which the one woman pulls from her thigh is a Semmerling LM4. The LM4 is unique for several reasons and was actually covered by Ian over at forgotten weapons. I’ll begin, the LM4 was a deep concealment backup multi shot pistol but it was not a semi automatic you actually had to hand cycle it, the preferred method was shown when she first drew it, but you could carry 1 in the pipe. It held 4+1 of .45 ACP and loaded from a detachable box magazine it stayed in by squeeze clips on either side there was no button to drop it. It also had an optional “ skeleton kit” which removed the grips and used a piece of metal to cover areas prone to crudding up. The Semmerling’s biggest downside was its cost in the 1980s it was over 650 bucks which priced it out of reach of most folks. Ultimately guns like AMT’s backup in both .380 and .45 ACP Became much more popular. Due in part to lower cost and more conventional recoil operated cycling
@@VaultTecCitizens well these days the gun is something of a curiosity. It’ virtually useless today when something of similar size being a Taurus GX-4 or a Sig P365 can hold 12 plus 1 and actually weigh less. Now as a range toy? Sure if you can find one but I think you’ll have an easier time finding an original colt delta elite in 10mm, please don’t try to carry one as an actual defensive tool.
Someone thought they'd caught Sonada making up a Honda hatchback, turned out he'd found a guy in Chicago back then that did conversions on that model. That's dedication.
***** I just watched it. Definitely is. I was blown away to see a Calico carbine among the arms used by the dad's henchmen. That and the stripped down 1911 was nice to see as well. Definitely knows his shit. People have trigger discipline even!
Bogdan Gabriel Late to answer a 6 month old question, but that would be a pistol design utilising blow forward rather than blowback action. Blow forward has a fixed breach face and the barrel moves forward. They have fewer moving parts and a very compact size to comparable length barrel blowback counterparts making them suited to small compact weapons such as the one used in the footage.
the blonde woman is later reused as the main character for gunsmith cats, even with the same name but changed design. while the strong man appears as a supporting character every now and then, it was made by the same person so obviously it makes sense that he wouldn't drop the characters entirely
Both of them have had their similar drawings and spinoffs by the same creator of Gunsmith Cats. Rally and Minnie May worked with Bean in several episodes in their manga, but concentrated in their own troubles. Riding Bean was a one shot while those 4 eps of Gunsmith Cats were second to none.
It's "earlier" in comparison to today, sure, but I wouldn't call it "early anime" considering this is 1989, and anime goes back to the 50s and 60s at least, lol. Those are the actual "early anime" decades ;)
Jose Pena i dunno if you intentionaly answer to neros77 but if it's the case i can assure you that he doesn't need any recomendations for this kind of music as he's the one of the three (with newretrowave and maniac synth) who bring it to YT. Cheers and thanks again neros77 :)
Jose Pena I'm just one guy yes, and a BIG fan of synthwave/outrun music since 2009. I try to keep up with the latest, but don't have much time these days. I also just do what I feel for. That is the neros77 way! ;-)
Shame that Riding Bean only had one episode, it looks like such an interesting and engaging pilot episode to a potentially awesome Anime, if the rest of the series (Or even script) ever saw the light of day. The song is great too, it actually really sounds the part to something like this as well.
The 80s and 90s were the peak of Creativity as well as Originality in any given form of entertainment sure there's a fair amount of decently done stories and music but it's just missing the magic
Seeing this video only let's me think of one thing. not only was the song awesome, but the visuals got me into watching the original anime. Ever since I do not regret watching this.
This guy was a total badass. In and out with the blink of an eye. His bullet proof car drove sideways his stylish leather jacket was bullet proof aswell. His Kbar cut through steal like butter. They called him the fucking Road Buster. Nobody could stop this man.
Always loved that scene where the woman fooled the bad guy by throwing just the magazine and using the one cartridge in the chamber to take him down. Cool action sequence.
I don't know Bean's backstory, but he is a main character in the Gunsmith Cats manga series. He's inhumanly strong. He can punch through a car door barefist. Got crushed between the bumper, then flips the car over. Fights with knives because "guns are boring'. Dude's the ultimate 80's badass...
Scarf Guy I'm sorry, I interpreted the "I feel like this was" as in "I seem to remember but I'm not sure". You know, like in the sentence "I feel like I've seen you before".
theforsbergshow I'm serious. I listen to all kinds of music. Mostly old school Hiphop, but if I had the opportunity to re-listen to any artist for the first time again I would choose Lazerhawk, hands down! Man, the first time I listened to some of his songs, my mind was blown. He's also got songs that grow on you like this one. I didn't like Overdrive at first and I always skipped it, but after a year or so I rediscovered it and it's one of my favorite songs now. This guy has crazy talent.
theforsbergshow I know a lot of Synth artists, but never heard of Kap Bambino. I'll check it out and yeah I'm from the 90's too lol I'm using the Sony MDR 10RC headphones right now.
Gotta admire the animation, its so smooth and fluid with great detail. Never been too much of an Anime fan but I wish all animation had this much effort regardless of the style.
Man i have been looking for this anime for awhile. I really hope somebody uploads it one day. It looks old school cool and i really want to watch it. 😄
The subtle details in this anime clip are amazing. Detroit city, the Cowboy Bebop guy, the sign on the cop car, the movie references, etc. Easy to miss.
Having heard this song and watched the little cinematic, I just HAD to watch the Anime it was from, and I LOVED it! I think this song went really well with Riding Bean in the background!
OMG. I just died and went to retro heaven. It's just... just unbelievable. This song is by far the best I've heard since Kavinsky's Tessarossa Autodrive. Just fucking epic.
I listened to this song everytime when driving in Gangstar Vegas in KWATT fm. "This is Roni q and you are listening to KWATT. Get ready for some Lazerhawk overdrive. Ready set jam!"
While I can't say the anime is realistic, I can at least appreciate that the creators know how guns work. I don't even know how some guns even work. Dope song, btw.
