I've heard it said many times that all you need is one or two good friends, and they don't have to be human. I always believed that to be true. I'm with you insofar as having a lot of friends. But I gotta remind you baby that you have 200K subscribers plus more coming so you got lots of company. I'm so glad you showed up in my life.

Lovely lazy garden tour! There's so much to enjoy on your homestead. It's feels like you've created corners of peace or areas of joy all around your land. That's really nice to see in this hyper digital age. I'm glad you kept some of your grandparents' things. It keeps precious memories alive, as you know. I see growth and creativity everywhere, so thanks for taking the time to share it with us. Stay true to you and long lasting friendships will form in time. Before I found this channel I never thought about raising ducks, geese, or planning a homestead. Now, I can't wait to realize that dream! Thanks Cody! I hope you get some heavy rain sooon. Reminder: Life will find a way...

That's really sweet that you take hold of those stuff that were previously used by your grandparents, and still find way to reuse or repurpose them❤ Your garden is thriving despite the drought season and considering you didn't do much gardening this year. As for your pumpkin, I hope that one volunteer by the pond produce you a good pumpkin. Oh Rita .. we miss seeing her😢

I started gardening this year for the first time, but I only have a 10ft x 10ft spot in my community garden and i also use my balcony at my condo to grow a few things (I live in a big city), but so far, it has become the highlight of my day. You're giving me lots of ideas on what to plant for next year!

Thanks for the tour Cody. I love the "compound Interest" in the garden, that is the best kind. Will have to remember that saying. I have the Rose of Sharon trees here as well, love them and so do the birds and bees but they drive me mad as the seedlings pop up everywhere. We have loquat trees as well, lovely fruit but seedlings everywhere 🥴I felt very sad when you said you had no friends (I know how that feels) but you have family and your pets. they are the most important. I am seeing this video now in August so I hope you have had some rain. Thanks again for a great video. Jeanette, New Zealand.

RoundUp? Noooo!!! My step-dad used that poison plus DDT and Sevin on his garden for years. All four of us ended up with peripheral neuropathy! Our doctors agreed that it's probably from the poisons we ingested. Let your dad and others know about the danger of these horrible poisons!

Your pond is so peaceful. Rita looks good floating peacefully. 💔 Even your fish look peaceful! Your plants are just beautiful! Did you start your gardens or did your folks start them & you expanded & developed them? Haha!! Echo: "maybe if I stare at the rock hard enough, it will move for me!" Lol!! It's so nice you love things from your grandparents. You must have spent special time with them. 😮 Your dad did that?? Yikes! 🤦‍♀️ I am still amazed at how all the names of the plants just roll off your tongue!! I always enjoy your tours! (Whenever I get my place, I will have lots of flowers! I have some on my deck now!!!) 💕

Loved your lazy man's garden tour. Lovely. Huge job. By the way, the hummingbird moth is actually an insect (moth) so is not warm-blooded.
@WhittAcres
@WhittAcres 24 дня назад
Thanks, While most insects are "cold-blooded", hawk moths are an exception to this rule. Not only can these insects generate their own body heat, they are capable of withstanding enormous changes in heat without any injury to their bodies.

Beautiful tour! I just got back from Alaska and they have a really cool flower there called a fireweed. It's not only pretty but it blooms from the bottom up. So when you see the top of the flower blooming, summer is on it's way out and autumn is on its way. It's used to make things such as fireweed jelly. Love hibiscus - I have a hibiscus and plumeria tattoo on my left arm/shoulder. Quite a few of my tattoos showcase beautiful flowers. What a beautiful moth! My reptiles eat silkworms, and some of them cocoon and turn into silk moths. So adorable! It's sad that they've lost their ability to fly through years and years of breeding for their silk 😔

I wonder if the land there is good for digging up a well for groundwater or an extension of your waterline towards the barn and the garden. i know it's a big project and one that can be costly as well. That, or you'll just have to add another of those big tanks near your vegetable garden to have a water source..

I wonder if when you bring 1 of you big water boxes (forgot what they're called all of a sudden), if after you filled it, you could take it over and hook a hose to it and water your food garden. Then you could just take it back and top it off again. That way, you're not hauling heaving buckets and making multiple trips. I hope that made sense.

What are the lowest temps and the highest temps you get out there, I’ve loved hibiscus plants and our tortoise love then our summer temp range from 99-110* and hibiscus love them temps but I’ve also been under the understanding they go into a dormant faze in the winter and can tolerate low temps. We get snow sometimes but not a lot so say 30*- 60* give or take. And in another state we went from 2 extremes 128* summers to 30* winters and I never had problems there as long as they are watered good in the summer months. So I have a hard time believing they won’t survive our crazy winters since I’ve moved to a different state. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this. Tfs ❤😊
