Stephanie wants to put Bubba on child support since she is not working "because of Covid" but they share a week on/week off possession schedule with the child.
it depends friend... Each Engineering branch/specialization is different. A Chemical Engineer does things in a plant design that an Electrical Engineer does not do and does not know how to do it... and viceversa. Her problem is that she is using that as an excuse and secondly her lack of experience does not allow her to explore other venues like Project Management, procurement or planning were a specific specialization is often not needed not just having the Bachelor in Engineering is enough to meet the requirements. Depending on what she is looking for specifically... things can get difficult to find a proper job and normally you dont want to spend time doing "just something" as it counts towards your years of experience... ideally, you want a job that helps you get more experience in your area so that you can be promoted.
As a Chemical Engineer myself, the amount of work available for even just regular engineering is insane. Anyone who is competent in that field should have no problem getting work. Food sector, pharmaceutical sector, energy sector all of them require chemical engineers. And those are just a few of the jobs in demand right now for chemical engineers.
@@amandastandley9403 no but I’m a MOTHER who doesn’t use child support!! I don’t believe her BS.. and whether or not I have a degree in the field I still know what the hell competence looks like!! I love when there's judge says, "That's none of my business, nothing to do with me." I always look forward to hearing her say that. She sounds too cute.
lol I think it's so funny. The stories that couples come in with on why they got divorced is just hilarious. Judge Vonda is a SUPPORT COURT judge, not a DIVORCE judge. She don't give two craps about the side piece. She just wants to hear your numbers and do a calculation. It's funny how she does that though. Sometimes she'll sit through the story because she knows eventually it's going to lead to how much everyone is making. I've seen it where she tells the other party to be quiet because she's about to hear about some income information. She's sly.
@@Casper-Ghost Yes it is. Just like I'm a Software Engineer but I can still work in Mobile Application development or as a mainframe developer etc. They're the same general field with different missions but you can still cross function if you need to
@@jasonmillstalks It is not the same, you as Software Engineer can work in the field of programing (applications, mainframe, etc.) She as a chemical engineer can work only in fields related to Chemistry. So both of you can't work as mechanical engineers or electrical engineers. Also, you as Software Engineer can't work as Chemical Engineer and vice versa. So what Judge said is incorrect. Have a great day.
Because this truck driver does not know enough to know that engineering fields are wildly different. They all require math but beyond that, they diverge.
@@NebraskaWriter bruh... just 3 to 4 intervew in SIX MONTH? that says it all. she just lazy. I mean I'm a programmer but when I do job hunting I applied to everything even just a general admin that has nothing to do with computer. in a month I can go like 20 to 30 interview.
@@hakimapg Same here. I actually picked up a retail job during a slump while I was looking for a good employer for my career. I did hundreds of online applications, tailored my resume to each one, and went to dozens of interviews before I finally found a job that was both interested in me and I was interested in them. Meanwhile, I was paying my bills with the income from the retail job. I was straight up with the manager of the store I worked at. I told her that I did not anticipate working there for very long, as I intended to resume my career, but since they needed seasonal help anyway, it was a good fit. And when the season was over, she kept me on until I was ready to go. Working minimum wage in the service industry was grueling, thankless work, but it was work, and I was grateful to the manager for taking me on, knowing my circumstances. It was SOME income, anyway.
The more comfortable they feel the more information they divulge.... The more information they divulge...the most accurate picture she gets for the most fair ruling. 🙏🏼👏🏼
It’s not his job to offset her lost/decreased income he’s not her sugar daddy or his child! He is only responsible for 50% of their child’s financial needs. In a world full of so called independent women I sure see a lot of women thinking they are entitled to a man taking care of them financially.
I believe in equality, but I notice a lot of bitches want just the good shit. Equal pay, but still wants a man to pay the bills, pay when they go out, etc. It's stupid.
@Breana Rose I am calling bs on that, there are plenty of men who are in hard times and can barely support themselves yet have to continue supporting his ex and child and you don't see women jumping to help or supporting said man. Everything you said is just complete bull compared to reality.
@@TheSlong123 Men only care about one thing with a job; "How much does it pay?" Women want regular working hours, employer provided healthcare, no travel, no risks, paid vacation, paid baby leave, working in air conditioning, and working with people. The woman should just get a job.....tomorrow....period, and then worry about her "career".
@Breana Rose True,....um.....when you are legally married. Once divorced, then in 2021, it is EQUALITY. If the child is over 6 years old, and at school 8-9 hours a day, then BOTH people work. It is about the 8 year old boy at this point, not about him providing more money to her. The compromise would be for him to provide $$$$$ for the boy, when the boy is with her, and then she pays him back. I want receipts. If she is not working, then how is she living? The "Child Support" she is asking for will go to support her. Call it what it is. SMH.
One of the few women who use the correct term "our children" in these matters. Shared custody, that's unusual and an improvement. She loses her job and wants more money from him, WTF? She has an advanced degree and he's a truck driver and she wants a wealth transfer. Good call to deny and sharing costs. Equality and no gender bias.
@@knight2976able Actually most Truckers have to pay for food and hotel and get reimbursed about 45% of those costs. Add to that extra fuel costs which they may or may not get reimbursed for depending on the company. Truckers have it hard hundreds of dollars a month in insurance cost. I have fallen in love with this judge honestly! She has the moves of a cheetah, the bite of a lion, she has attitude to put people in check, good taste of theme music, kick ass humor! Mad respect ✊
Ya I was assuming she was just not a engineer 😂 I’m a power engineer and the difference from mechanical to chemical to just a plain engineer is astronomical.
For real, I’m a senior in high school and I’ve been in an engineering based class for the whole 4 years, this person just seems to think she wants to be an engineer due to the paycheck when obviously she doesn’t know a thing
Wait, are you suggesting that the situation made up by the writers doesn’t make sense and those writers also don’t understand engineering? I’m personally SHOCKED, just SHOCKED that there is gambling going on in this casino.
She is full of it. Being an engineer means she is well educated and knows the difference in the various engineering types. And she knows what similar jobs she can do with her degree. It might not be exactly the same job as before but there are closely related jobs she can do.
I will give her this chemical engineering is not the same as mechanical or electrical but during a pandemic where drug companies were literally hiring people who hadn't even graduated college 😳 and she couldn't get a Job? Miss me with it
Chemical engineering was hit hard cause manufacturing was down by 30% or more. Drug manufacturers will only hire people who have experience in pharma. It took me 9months to get a job with a masters in chemical engineering and experience. Only had 2 interviews. No pharma company would even give me an interview. Not saying she isn’t lazy.
yes...she sounds lazy, but engineering doesn't work like the judge says.....you don't put a construction engineer to mix chemicals for your pills...or a chemical engineer to build skyscrapers.
@@razvit she’s lazy it’s simple, the judge openly ASKED if it was possible to do other forms of engineering. Anyways she’s a chemical engineer, read the comment stated above Thats the one that was needed in the pandemic. Lazy people will always try and defend lazy people.
@@_x_x9889 I already said she sounds lazy,. My comment wasn't regarding her, but regarding the Judge. I didn't say there are no jobs...I just said it's stupid to compare engineering branches. It seems like you didn't read my whole comment...perhaps a little lazy?
depends on the geographical situation, it is mainly in the energy sector and often times they have relocate when a certain region has been completely exhausted or a business has shut down. the businesses in these sectors shut down quiet often as it is a highly risky industry, also might be hard to find a new employer if she can't move around too much due to the custody restraints. However, she can easily get a basic job like at admin worker or a any clerical work.
As Tanbir said, I'm an Electrical Engineer (Industrial Automation). During the 2013 GFC, my industry saw all our work go offshore due to the governments and private sectors choosing to shut down domestic manufacturing as it is cheaper to just import (big portion of our contracts). This ended up causing the company I worked for to be in the red for about 3 years using reserves just to pay our wages until the CEO who was forgoing his own financials to help keep us employed (great company btw), had no choice but to close the books entirely. I struggled to find work in my field as all the other companies in the area were going through the exact same issue. I looked at travelling into the city but i'd be on the train for 5 hours a day round trip, work 10 hours a day, and only have 9 hours to do everything else.. and that's assuming I got onto the train on time (rural lines, 1 train every hour). It was not worth it. I looked at cost of relocation, and realised given the cost of living in the city, the money I'd be earning, it was actually cheaper to stay where I was at the time and get a government administrator job. Worked for the Department of Health for a few years whilst I went through sports rehab and ended up enlisting. What this lady is saying may well be true, the jobs in her sector may well have dried up in the area and cannot relocate due to her son.. but she can easily get any job from accounting, to management, clerical, hell, if push comes to shove, apply to a call centre. Know a guy who got 1st class honours, top 1% of his graduating class, ended up working a call centre for a few years because of his field drying up.

My sister-in-law was a chemical engineer for Texas Instruments in Texas and yes they make an insane amount of money she should have had enough savings to live off if for years
You may think that, but anyone that has been dragged through divorce court knows how stupid expensive that is. And then add on support ... My ex was getting about half my net to not work, with 50-50 custody, and since she was not working someone else was paying her legal bills and my own just kept climbing in total. Save money? I don't know their circumstance, but my ex was spending so much and not working during our marriage, I was more financially secure losing half my net to her.

I can’t believe that a person with a chemical engineering qualification does not know that mechanical and electrical engineering are completely different. She must be a total fool.

It amazes me that people who are putting a child through a divorce, especially a nasty divorce that they don’t stop to think how much difficulty it puts on children. She’s blaming dad for the son’s bad behavior when she should be researching the trauma the divorce is having in her son.
I work in Engineering...you cannot substitute an Process/Chemical Engineer for an Instrument or Mechanical or Electrical Engineer. They're not even the same thing and it's stupid to think they can interchange. Not defending the lazy mom, just saying the thought of a 4 year degree becoming instantly interchangeable is beyond stupid.
You have a chemist, a mechanic, and an electrician. Which one do you want to rewire your home? An electrician could help fix your car, but a chemist? Then multiply the specialization by a factor of 10. You want your heart surgery performed by a heart surgeon not an orthopedic surgeon.
Chemical engineering graduates are highly desirable in other fields because they are adept at problem-solving and have solid management and analytical skills. Chemical engineers also develop a number of soft skills including logical, innovative and creative thinking. Also Chemical Engineering is one of the More Difficult fields of the Engineering Classes. Becoming One of those Toughest Engineering Degrees Can get. With 2nd Place being Aerospace Engineering 3rd Place Biomedical Engineering. Chemical engineers sometimes are called 'universal engineers' because their scientific and technical mastery is so broad.
As a retired engineer I can tell you any engineer worth his salt can function in most jobs because of the broad base o f subjects you cover in your first two years.
Although I am not an engineer, I have crossed paths with many as a STEM professional and know exactly what you mean. She is either lazy or being way too picky for someone who needs to work. At the very least, she could go into teaching and easily have schools work with her to obtain certification or special training. Some even bypass it if the person has a graduate degree. She just doesn’t want to work badly enough.
Even if she got child support from Bubba it still wouldn't supplement her original income. Chemical Engineers easily make 6 figures. She's just being petty and lazy.
6? where? and when?. In 2015 I was a Department Manager and I was earning 90k and couldnt find a job to pay me more. So... that is a myth... unless you are talking large organizations and a Senior close to a department manager... but nowadays salaries are going down fast specially on the traditional engineering. Software engineering or COmputer Science might be a bit different.
Mechanical engineer here. I also had a VERY difficult time finding employment during and after covid. AND the coursework for the different types of engineering are drastically different. PLEASE believe me when I tell you that you do not want somebody with experience in chemical engineering in charge of mechanical engineering if they are not versed in that.
Actually, what the mother is saying is very true. The coursework is drastically different for the different types of engineering. My middle daughter is a senior mechanical engineering student and my youngest has considered chemical and biomedical engineering. I’ve seen the degree plans and they are very different. Her degree focuses on the atom/molecule level where the mechanical engineer focuses on structural and fluid mechanics. She may still be lazy but she would ONLY be appropriate for a chemical engineering student. She could apply for teaching positions for chemistry teacher through an emergency certification program. We need more good chemistry teachers.
Not to mention, many STEM students are required to take basic physics and programming a lot of times. She could have definitely found something, even as a test engineer or in quality assurance or at least tutor core science courses for high school and maybe college freshmen and sophomore students. Organic chemistry would help her make a killing.-Lots of people need help with it.
Judge: Is there anything else? Bubba: No ma'am, thank you ma'am😏😊 Poor bubba rightfully assumed he was about to get f'd over and left with his faith restored in humanity.
That's why Vonda put out the question, "What's the difference between it all?" She may have come off with an attitude to some but it was a question that if answered instead of "I don't know" would've shed light.
I tend to agree. I am holding a PhD in Chemistry, and I am pretty aware that there are differences in general. But, and this is a big BUT - an engineering degree usually allows one to quickly adopt to other jobs, and I am reading "hire for attitude, don't hire for skills" more often that I want to. So I am pretty certain that she, if she really wanted to, could find smth that would allow her to at least have A job again, even if it is not her "dream-job", so to speak. Furthermore, I am led to believe that many companies are struggling to find new employees in general, I sometimes eve read about a certain "job crisis", meaning some shortage on the employee side of the game.
Where I teach, you can double major easily in chemical and mechanical because there's so much overlap. She could literally go back to school and take 5-6 courses and she can have an equivalent mechanical engineering degree. So, she's BSing.
@@practicewhatyoupreach79 they go over it, she can go for a general engineering job until she finds something. She had a child, she can't afford to be picky
