Speaking Marketing Caitlin Clark gotta degree at Iowa in Marketing and her mom has made her living as a Marketer for companies. But when the NCAA in 2022 past the rule that NCAA college players in 2023 could make money off their name...... Caitlin Clark got to work using her marketing skills she was learning in college how to market. So she started contacting companies to sponsor her. So from 2023- April of 2024 Caitlin Clark had made $3.7 Million Dollars of her own money by marketing her Athletic name. If the NCAA would've had that rule in place during her first 2 years she'd probably been worth $10 million dollars before she left the NCAA. If the Truth is Known & I'd bet everything I own on it .......But I'd bet she's marketing her name by way of sponsorship to companies as we speak. Because just like the NBA the league owns the players skills on the court but anything off that court belongs to the players! For example Wilt chamberlain, Larry Bird Michael Jordan way back in the day made money 💰 doing commercials & teaming with shoe companies and it hasn't stopped since. So that $75K per year Caitlin Clark gets from the Fever is probably peanuts 🥜 compared to what she's really making. Yeah I know she got a big deal with Nike but I'm speaking of her other marketing gigs she's getting behind the scenes. And all those other women could get it too if they'd put the hard work in to get the WNBA off the ground. But like Ben said they're just lazy as F & ain't doing nothing but sitting on their Aces doing nothing.
There is a very good reason why the WNBA has been failing so badly. It doesn’t matter where you look it’s bad in multiple places. The social media team, coaches, actions of players, refs, some GM’s even the commissioner is a product of DEI hiring. Until they get serious and start hiring real professionals the league will suck and struggle to keep up with this new found fame.

Love or hate Roger Godell in the NFL, however he is focused on growing the NFL, they have conduct policies, etc, coaches cant act like sheryl reeve without being fined. Can you imagine if an NFL coach said he didn't give 2 sheets about the fans. There would have been a hefty fine if not being fired. This league has no structure or professionalism at this point and they need some real business and basketball minds in there or catiline resurrected this league for nothing

CC should be the highest paid employee. She shoulf get her player contract and a media contract as rhe lead marketing officer. No one in the front offices should get a raise for at least a decade to determine their actual worth. Clark is the only reason for an influx

Purchased WNBA league pass. When there aren't games, I've looked for other interesting content. What I've seen are documentaries about some of the players' love life. Dont care about that!

The idea is simply this-- take the MLB Field of Dreams game and the CC Iowa Hawkeyes football stadium game and make it the biggest attended WNBA game in history. The team channels are just as bad. Arike won MVP crickets on Wings channel. No content on Sky Channel of Reese ever playing in Allstars. Fever the only team channel with consistent content. A big reason why they have the most subscribers.
I followed Caitlin to the wnba. I see compromised coaches I see compromised players. I'll watch Caitlin play in any other league but the WNBA. Let the league go back to the way before Caitlin. And there goes their $260 million TV contract.
The website is very generic with some redirects. I do have a problem with the WNBA headquarters. They put out a weekly and monthly players for POTW & POTM. But they do not disclose who is voting on this. Various sources have said it is either coaches, media or stake holders. A stake holder can be a share holder but probably not in this sense. Typically stakeholder would be actual workers in the company. Office Personnel, Social Media and other in house headquarter personnel. I think these are illegitimate awards if they do not disclose who is voting on them. A player could build a undeserved amount of weekly awards and the writers will use said awards to vote on yearly awards. Plus WNBA Social Media has been bias against CC.

Totally true. What has the Fever done to take advantage of having the biggest draw the WNBA has ever had. The local stadium advertises they were designed and can host basketball games. While at Iowa they set a record for attendance, most people to ever watch a basketball game 55,000... How has the Fever NOT done that? There are all kinds of promotions the Fever could be doing. If they don't make a profit it is their own fault, the WNBA record is held by another team using Your player to do it. That should be embarrassing.
Maybe. You compare work product of WNBA vs NBA. You should also compare input (e.g., staff size). My guess is that staff budget for WNBA is a tiny fraction of corresponding NBA budget. Could be one person at WNBA is trying to do the work of 10 people at NBA. The content of your podcasts is great, but would it be fair to compare a one-person podcast to a major network produced programming? Of course not. Check out staff sizes or budgets for similar tasks, and then compare WNBA versus NBA.

Its sad, spade a spade. Wnba are just not equipped or resourced, maybe new injection of money, they can staff up with competent and people who want to grow women's basketball. The youtube highlight videos of games on wnba channel could get a BD roast as well .. i dont know if the YT editor doesnt know how to put together clips to showcase an exciting product or legit nothing exciting from the game to put on YT. I hope Cathy Engelbert can avoid doing to wnba what Kathy Kennedy did to star wars.
