I’ve seen a few reviews saying that the entertainment system / interior control system is … a bit crap. Driving a Sahara ZX every day, I couldn’t disagree any more, I like it.
I think its a great system and a huge step up from the previous platform. There are few frustrating things that they could have done better. I would appreciate the ability to minimize the climate control tab for Android Auto and Apply carplay. I understand that it might create a problem that buttons are far away from reach. But I think its really good to use all the screen real estate for google maps. Also, the 3D 360 cameras view is really a joke comparing to the whole car industry. I mean they have a decent camera system hardware in the car with good visual quality. It's really a shame that they didn't get the software part right. It's even more shocking is that the same 3D system is shared across in a lot of 2023 Lexus cars including the LX600 and even Toyotas like the new Tundra. It really does suprise me to see that implementation pass out toyota's brand QA/QC assurance that easy. I just really hope that Toyota doesn't just forgot about the LC300 infotainment and keeps doing upgrades thought-out the life cycle of the car.
I agree to a certain extent, it is very simple and straight forward. I do think though there should have been an option to stretch the Map (or any screen you happen to choose) area to the entire screen if you should prefer. But also have the split screen as it stands now. Now I have fitted the wireless Apple Car Play adapter and just leave it plugged in, after just a few seconds, it connects your phone and works flawlessly. No need to take your phone out of your pocket, it just works. The more time you spend in this car, the better I like it.
First Thanks for watching! I was thinking of the wireless apple car play, but my phone is always needing charge. 😆 So for me I would still have to take it out and use the charge pad… but I do like the idea. 👍
Is there a way to use the systems DVD entertainment whilst driving? The current default is that the DVD switches to audio mode when in Drive so there is no longer any visual.
