For pg. 15 the products to sums and differences should we always put a half in front if there is no 2

Yes - you can think of it as dividing both sides of the identity by 2. Dividing by 2 is easier to work with when written as multiply by a half.

Shouldn’t it be 2sinacosa then cos^2

When you multiply Cos(A) by 2Sin(A) the answer is 2CosASinA or 2SinACosA. That is as simple as it goes.

I think you are mixing it up with how it would work if there was a plus in the middle e.g. (2SinA + CosA)(CosA)... What we have is one term 2SinACosA. Does this answer your question?
