This video was stupid spontaneous. I got home, plugged in the mics, turned the camera on, and just went with it. Usually I prefer a more structured approach but for this I just wanted to test both the mics out. My next video I have planned is going to be 1000x better and is actually structured. Anyway, let me know what you guys think of the mics, which do you like best? 🙌

The LCT440 pure is by far my favourite mic in the lower price range, such a dope mic

i use the 440 pure and was considering getting the nt1. I think I'll stick with the lewitt. i agree the pop filter they provide while cool that it attaches with magnets does almost nothing unless you prefer the off axis method. then it helps as a last line of defense
@UndergroundSoundProductions
@UndergroundSoundProductions 2 года назад
Yeah they're both great in their own ways. NT1 is by far more neutral sounding whereas the 440 has a pretty significant amount more high end. I wasn't too surprised that I would like how the Lewitt sounds considering I gravitate towards the brighter mics

Also depends on headphones you are listening in. In my headphones Rode NT1 sounds better - too many buzzing sibillants on Lewitt. But i've got Rode Nt1 and still going to buy Lewit exactly for a bit raised sibillants - for darker voices. :)

It’s NT1 for me. I don’t like the extra top end for spoken word. But that being said: I have expected for them to sound quite similar and what I could hear, matches with my expectations. I would have been shocked, if the difference had been bigger.

I kinda have a deep voice and went with the lct 440 pure. Hope i made a good choice. This is my first mic.while i tested rode at my friends studio and it sounded good.but somehow i ended with the Lewitt 440 pure.

I think both are BETTER choices if you ask me depending on your preference. Lewitt is more edgy and modern sounding since it adds more high-end emphasis. If you have a deep voice and want a mic to make up for the lack of high end the lewitt is the choice. but if you want more neutrality and details of the darker low-end of your deep voice then NT1 is better. besides the sounds, I like the square compact physical look of Lewitt more but I have heard more complaints about the shockmount's effectivity in reviews.

I use the SE-1 filter and its the BEST imo. Just to give you some proof of how good it controls air,, I use it for vocals in front of an sm81 which is extremely sensitive being a small condenser.

as a new singer and voice actor starting a home studio with the Audient iD 14 mll that want to get a great mic for singing as a baritone and do fun and detailed animation roles reading in scripts as well but with the foremost focus on singing what do I get out of the LCT 441 Flex vs if I choose the little cheaper 440 Pure!? Any and all inputs will be highly welcomed! 😊 thanks guys
@liamstrain
@liamstrain 2 года назад
If you are only doing voice work, and are in a well treated space - you typically won't need more than the cardioid polar pattern, so the 440 Pure should be fine. The only reason to get the Flex is to get the additional polar patterns.

I like the LCT’s brightness and clarity, but I’m hearing a bit of a buzz in certain areas that is bothering me. Like a lot. I don’t think I could sustain listening to it for a long period of time.

I record the video on the camera using a SD card. Then using a sd to usb c dongle, I import the footage onto my ssd and start working from there. The only time I’d use a capture card is if I was live streaming

Ty don’t you have a Tlm 103 why even consider these other mics? Cause I have an Nt1 right now and it’s just not complimenting my voice right. So I’m saving to get the tlm 103, not to mention the other equipment I got to pair with it.
@UndergroundSoundProductions
@UndergroundSoundProductions 2 года назад
I use to. I didn't feel like the tlm103 is necessary for what I do. I actually have a video explaining why I got rid of it and why in most cases it's not necessary for most people. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZQmeLz4sgq4.html

Ah gotcha, yeah I can see where you are coming from. If I was doing podcasting/voice overs I’d use the nt1 as well. I just find the nt1 to hard to mix personally. I need a brighter microphone so that I’m not trying so hard to add it in post production. I’ve always heard and said best quality going in= best quality coming out. Thanks for reply tho
@UndergroundSoundProductions
@UndergroundSoundProductions 2 года назад
I have nothing bad to say about the 103 and it’s easily my favorite microphone I’ve ever used. In my opinion, it’s the all around best microphone money can buy because with audio the law of diminishing returns is real. Sure you can buy a u87ai or GPAC, but is it worth multiple thousands of dollars and even more? Not really in my opinion. For what I do, it doesn’t make much sense owning it but I wouldn’t knock another person wanting it that’s for sure

As allready mentioned. Both mic's should be on mouth level. Still the Lewitt is the brightest one. I Prefer the NT1.

Everybody who is into audio gear knows that Lewitt 440 pure is the new standard since it compares directly to Neumann TLM 103 and it's basicaly the same mic with some more presence, wich helps at mixing. It's a game-changer and a true working-class hero. Tried it on good dedicated mic preams and it's basically a highly performance microphone. Rode is just that... Rode. A fat bottom sibillant **tch.
