Let me be the first to say congratulations welcome to the family. What family is that you might ask the club of people they have successfully built there own ldmos amp and have a video of it working you are number 5 it's a small Club should be proud that you're in it.. welcome welcome and I'm absolutely shocked that you did not mention this yesterday when we were on the phone.. congratulations and welcome again!!
@@BoxBuilderIdaho Yep, let's see for how long that'll go. Eventually he might decide he's too busy. Start saying there's a one year waiting period. Too many other jobs/hobbies to keep busy at. You know the drill. He'll probably start blocking people from leaving comments;-)
Ha! I almost used that fan controller for a power supply, and thought the pwm might interfere, so thanks :) A thermal/on switch and parallel resister works though, if you want to regulate the fan some. You'd have to integrate the switch into the heat sink though. Neat build. Ambiguous and it paid off :)
That is god damn nice work - and not only that, you took the time to show that the amplifier is linear up to 2k output. I would still like to see the 2 tone test done on this thing, but I would say it should be fine. Excellent work!
I used the same step down converter for bias and fans and it created 2-3 s units of hash on my sdr receiver from the fans when I ran it on a standard power supply the Rx fan noise disappeared
can you list parts list for the other devices apart from the pa;;et. i would like to build one for 2m and your design looks very nice and probably cheaper than the versions i have seen at W6PQL. thanks great work by the way
Amazon. The ones in the video are... not great quality. After shooting this vid I realized one of the four attenuators was bad, and the total stack was -7db not -10db.
One reason for your fan running to fast and loud is its not able to pull/push air past it. No vent in box for air flow. Double your voltage for fan and half the speed, if its a 12v go to 24v,, well done on the work
So 2000 watts for what... 20 seconds? That's great but most people are on the key longer than that. Don't get me wrong I think that LDMOS is the future but it's gonna have to handle the heat for a lot longer than that.
If you're not planning on dropping nuts and bolts into the fan intake while shouting a video, maybe remove that filter from the fan intake, it might quiet down a bit.
Sir could you send me wiring diagram I have 1200W 1.8-54MHz Shortwave Power Amplifier Board HF Amplifier MRFX1K80H BLF188 But I have no idea how to fit in aluminum box I just know about input or Output But your box have relay and lot of cable Ple help Can I purchase low pass filter from ebay But I don't have no idea what I'd the use of Ple
