Yes, at her audition I think she had some troubles because she had been in that storm in Florida and driven a long way to get there..she had those slip on shoes on with socks, but when she sang, she was unbelievable! You could just tell.. I felt the same way. I knew she would win. I think the judges were a little dismissive of her in the beginning, like they were looking down their nose at her. NOW LOOK AT HER.!what an extraordinary talent❤

You're so right. That performance was so powerful that 13 years later I got the same soul stirring. When she took that note up and brought it back down, I felt just as you put it...Lord, Have Mercy! When she was done, I told my family she finished that note. They were already open mouthed and we said she's incredible. When Kirk Franklin said exactly that, we knew she had already won. I believe she knew it too. In the show that night, she gave praise to God on her feet! Every step and every teardrop thanking Him. I thank you for sharing that wonderful memory. God Bless You ❤
