He is 11 years old, from Portugal. He trains every day for many hours in Leiria, at Annarella Academia de Danza. He won YAGP Hope Award and already has a contract with the Royal Ballet.
The Americsn Academy of Ballet Solo Competition at the AAB Summer School of Excellence in New York is one of the best and enjoyable competitions In the world !
António Casalinho, born 14.6.2003 (so, here he was only still 11 or 12 already) won GOT TALENT PORTUGAL 2017 Final with "Acteon", after having danced "Le Corsaire - variation Ali" in the Audition and Variation "D. Quixote" in the Semi-final
this child seems remarkable to me. I know he works very very very hard and has support of his family. I believe he is certainly a wonderful future ballet star. my only hesitation is she is so diminuetive. he is proportioned but so small. there are many "lifts" to partnering in the ballet, and unless he grows, and grows proportionately, his struggle will be great, but I see greatness in him for the last 1-1/2 years, and pray for him to "measure up" in the future !
He is still quite young and was only 12 when he performed here. He still has time to grow up and may have a great future ahead as long as he develops his jump abilities without losing his flexibility. Anyway Ivan Vasiliev is quite short and has amazing jump abilities.
So, OK, he can physically do it, but I am not sure if I like the variation being danced by a child. What next - a 12-year-old Kitri? As a stunt, fine, as interpretation this is futile.
oldoperafan he is 11 surely has already advanced technique ,to develop other qualities has time ,l googled about him he studies in lisbona in a school that is creating many strong guys
Apologies, I did not mean to attack this clearly prodigious boy - just tried to say that he will need to "grow into" this role, as do all child students. I wish him all the success and when he is a star, I hope to still be here to see.
