Recreating the 1970 running of Le Mans made famous in the Steve McQueen film of the same name.
After a dry start the rain came, first light and then increasing heavy through the night until it finally cleared in the morning.
Only 16 of the 51 starters finished the actual race and of those 9 were unclassified as having covered too few laps.
In this recreation I am limited to 36 starters due to the maximum number of pit boxes available on the mod track.
The cars chosen are the ones that actually ran or best choices and start in the correct qualifying order.
For this video I reduced the lap count to just six to make it a reasonable length but normally I race 24 laps syncing one lap to one hour. This adds the fun of pit stops for fuel, tyres and damage as well as giving smoother weather transitions.
