Yes, it was amazing....too amazing for tire manufacturers who could not make a tire strong enough to handle hundreds of times down the Mulsanne straight at speeds approaching 270mph! the organizers decided in consideration of safety to place chicanes in several spots to slow the cars and to avoid tire explosions which put a Jaguar XJR on its roof and skid for 800yds!
