Thanks LDF for posting these. I freaking love endurance racing. Also, what a great broadcast crew with Bob Varsha, David Hobbs, Et Al...not that I don't like the folks doing it now - Martin Haven and the rest. Cheers.
The square shown at the very beginning was in the movie LeMans. Steve McQueen pulls up in a Ferrari to "gather his thoughts".I think the movie camera for the shot is exactly where they have the camera on this day.
God this is epic. Only OG epic gamers will understand the true beauty of this video. I found this so nostalgic that I freaking final smashed that like button.
1:19:48 best part of this video...then blame Pescarolo, when Peugeot released their car right in front of him...even if he wasn't pulling into the Pits, they would have had a penalty for unsafe release....idiots
Interesting and scientific ... also fast and full of skill .. to me much to clean though . like the Stones playing synth in navy Goretex tracksuits :) It is nevertheless a feast to see Monsieur Pescarolo who also might think of the old Matradays occasionally.
no offence jack like the drink only not spelt the same yer wrong my friend- 6LTR NA V12 with 650bhp/770nm of torque in the aston, 5.5LTR TWIN TURBO V10 with 650bhp/1050nm of torque in the R15. both 900kilos Aston rnt ment 2 win,VW r!Why?TO MAKE THE PUBLIC RUSH OUT N BUY DIESEL ROAD CARS!its by design
The Peugeot vs Audi was one of the best Protoype battles, better than the Totoya vs Porsche in my opinion. Also the GT field was heavily supported by Manufacturers back then. Nowadays GT doesn't get the same love, it's mostly privateer teams.
@@csonkaperdido GT3 isn't that far off in performance as GTE car though. Both are BOP classes. In the end GTE will die out because manufacturers have more to win from running GT3, and ACO will have to follow suit.
@@Orvieta I agree but a GTE car is allowed more aero and slightly more power than gt3... It's not a huge difference on most tracks but at Le Mans which is over 8 miles long a GTE car would be at least 5 seconds per lap faster. I still think of GTE as gt2... The FIA loves to mess with the gt series and remember the GT1 Porsche, Mercedes, Toyota and Nissan etc were doing laps around 3:35 at Le Mans in 1998 - 1999... The "GT1" cars after that were around 10-15 seconds per lap slower and comparable to the GTE lap times of today... Those old GT1 Corvette and Aston cars were sometimes faster on the straight than the prototype cars but didn't have the aero of current GTE cars. They were still AWESOME though!
