Yunjin saying that she felt like they're just hanging out but there's just happened to be a camera is so true. I can feel how they're just genuinely having fun and I'm glad for it🥺
I love how Yunjin despite being the only native english speaker, never hogs the spotlight in these types of interviews. Which would be really easy to do. She gives everyone a chance to shine. Great interview.
Right! She is so humble and gracious. Wants each of her members to also have their time to share their thoughts and feelings. She is incredible. But when she does speak, it’s clear how beautiful her heart and mind are.
Yeah, her position could be so stressful and hard but she does it flawlessly, just relaying the question quickly or giving the spotlight to someone else.
I wish korean interviews were this insightful. I feel like they can sometimes be surface level and only focus on the current promotion. its so nice and refreshing to hear what the girls ACTUALLY have to say and being asked genuine questions about their career. such a great interview to listen to as a fan.
I agree. It kind of used to be the other way around, western was more surface level. But slowly it seems to be changing. Le Mujin Service is a nice exception though❤
American interviews can also be superficial. Podcasts and radio can be either/ or where it can be insightful and thoughtful and/ or completely be superficial. Talk shows here can be more similar to how it is in Korea where they don't talk a lot about the process of the work and is more about fun but long-form interviews can provide both. On a cultural level, American and Western people would probably feel more inclined to talk about the "artistry" behind the music (even though we still associate K-Pop w/ Pop). Some interviewers probably know of how manufactured the K-Pop industry can be but they may also try to respect the idols by treating them like any other artist. However, I should also point out that it's all cultural. Korean media doesn't mind having the artist have fun and play games on variety shows. We don't quite have those here so it was a bit of a revelation when guys like Jimmy Fallon and James Corden would incorporate the guests in games in their shows. I'd expect Western actors and musicians to be more reserved in a variety show setting than Korean ones.
I'm so glad Hybe called Yunjin back to debut with LE SSERAFIM cause she is so amazing, main vocal material, powerfull dance, good visual, good facial expression also stage presence, she is confidence and a song writer too and she help LE SSERAFIM with english, actually she is my picked back in Produce 48 and i was so sad that she cannot debut in final and after 6 years she's finally debuted and LE SSERAFIM is so success as a rookie. I cant imagine if Yunjin really done with kpop and continue to study:(
She was robbed in PD48. She was literally the most vocally talented contestant on the show. And yet, she was still eliminated. But, at least, she got her redemption.
I felt it every time Zach said they were special. Because they are really special. There just aren’t K-pop girl groups out there doing it like them. From music conception and involvement all the way through to their amazing stages to their genuine personalities and bond. Mamamoo was the first and only girl group I loved and Le Sserafim gives me a similar vibe and have become my favorite girl group.
Oh my gosh my story is the exact same yours. Like literally that last sentence is exactly how it was for me. I was able to see Mamamoo in concert back in June... but I'm so glad I've found Le Sserafim now that Mamamoo is kind of doing their own thing as individuals/pairs. Love both of these groups so much, as a viewer you can feel that both of them have that drive to be genuine in what they put out, whether it's with their music, performances, or silly content.
@@courtneylee3587 right! OMG I saw MAMAMOO this past May in Chicago. They were unbelievable and I felt blessed. Hwasa is literally my ult bias, artist of my life. But yeah, I’ve tried to get into other girl groups and none of them captivate me like MAMAMOO. But when Le Sserafim’s debut introduction videos came out, I could start to feel it already especially from Yunjin.
@@Lorenzinho100 they seem really sweet. And i know they are close with Le Sserafim. I think their songs are super good and catchy but a they still lack a little bit of stage presence in their performances, especially a big stage. Understandable as they are all still really young.
Me neither lol, I love their music but I never watch variety content. They seem so cool though, I love that they're not being defined by "kpop" but just doing what they want.
I agree. I have watched many but Yunjin is very intelligent, engaging and genuine and it comes across so wonderfully. I have watched many groups and she is just different in the best way.
Are you sure we are watching the same interview?? Many times during the interview she was pausing and using filler words. So many ums, like, and yeahs. I actually went to a public speaking highschool, and one of the pillars for the school was leadership. Public speaking was a routine thing for us. As someone who has seen many of peers public speak, myself included. I would say that she is definitely not the best when it comes to public speaking and is not eloquent. Ik you will say this is my opinion but it is not an opinion it is a fact. People who use this fillers words a lot when speaking do so because they have poor grammar, and unable to quickly form cohesive thoughts/ideas. No hate to her it was still nice hearing her opinions/experiences. Her team should consider doing more mock interviews and challenge her to broaden her vocabulary.
Yunjin is a great leader, having to be the main speaker in an English interview and having to translate for her members is not easy. Yes the filler words are there but it doesn’t take away from her role in this interview and she did great
21:00 Sakura's answer is a STRONG and IMPORTANT one. It needs to be understood that Kpop Idols busy 90% of the time. When comebacks happen, their daily routine is filled for at least two months. They have to record, photoshoots, MV shoots, discuss themes and lyrics for the comeback and that's just a couple of months before the comeback. Once they comeback and promote, they have to do interviews, music shows, variety shows, radio shows, their own youtube & live contents, and travelling to different countries. They barely have time to think about their shortcomings and things they could improve on because their constantly on the move for three weeks straight, and then they move on to their next comeback and the cycle repeats. Sakura acknowledging it feels validating and hopefully all Idols take a step back and just stop to think about their personal growth musically and as a person, even if it means taking haituses or breaks. As always Zach Sang discusses deeper topics and gets great answers out of Idols. 🎉🎉
wow, I didn't know that Kazuha is also one of the lyricists. this is a very unique Kpop group compared to the rest of the industry. very glad to see their success continue to grow both in Korea and internationally
This group really gives that... There is something about them feeling to everyone who comes across them or meets them. You have to really go out of your way to dislike this group.
@@NEWBOTANICA No one's talking about Sakura, herself. I did mention that I love the group. Meaning that Sakura is a part of that. It's her *_solo stans,_* who's corny and delusional.
@@NEWBOTANICA I mean, to be fair, OP was talking about how you have to go out of your way to dislike the group, but I guess solo stans is an issue that could make people dislike the whole group/fandom. So it does make sense in this context.
Yunjin is such a deep thinker, it seems like she was holding back a little at the end in order to not get too deep 🤣Would love to hear her and the other members explore these deeper topics more, it's really refreshing.
Yunjin hitting us with the philosophical bombshell right at the end. I feel as though Chaewon holds back and moderates herself though, like she’s worried about PR first and sharing her feelings second.
She is always VERY PR aware. I think that’s good for her tbh, keeps a boundary between her public and private personas. She feels like a very traditional idol in that regard, which makes sense, because she comes from the most traditional idol process I would say. And she rebranded herself great, which shows she is very aware of presentation and optics. It speaks well of her qualities as a leader imo.
this is by far one of the best interviews i’ve seen in terms of LSF. very open, down to earth and just.. real. i’ve been following them since debut but it really is something special comparing them from the beginning to now and seeing just how far they’ve come not only as artists, but as people.
Yunjin absolutely BLEW ME AWAY here, and not because she’s the English spokesperson. The bit at the end about being an existential person and loving to create because a piece of her will live on forever through art…🤯🤯🤯
you can really tell they love what they do and the fate of the 5 of them being in lesserafim makes it even better , love their chemistry very genuine and understanding
This is why I love Le Sserafim. They’re just naturally….. human. Thankfully, and luckily for them they’re given more space to express themselves by their music company compared to other KPop groups out there. But even more fortunate that their company found these 5 individuals who have good personalities and work ethic. It’s destiny if you will! I hope they continue to tell their stories like this through their music, content and interviews, because that’s what makes them different and help them resonate with people. ❤
Yunjin being amazed on how Sakura answered the question how she changed after joining the team. Yes that's your wisdom generator right there. Love you girls
I dont consider myself a part of the fandom but they really are special. I think they are a very important example in kpop right now and I'm glad they get the chance to express themselves in the way they do
I’m in the US and I’m a HUGE fan! I’m so glad they’re becoming better known in the states. The girls had such intimate shows and interviews, they’re usually in enormous venues so it’s a treat to see them closer up! Thanks for the interview!
Really...Hope they will become more popular in US...& They entered Billboard hot 100....& Billboard 200 #1....bcz they r so hardworking 😢 down to earth , genuine k-pop GG...they always give their 100% in every performance
Love the interview, learned new things about the girls. Glad to know that Kazuha and Eunchae are also lyricist so I’m looking forward to see their work in the future. Also, not going to lie but I almost got teary when it was Sakura shared about what she learned about herself. These girls deserve so much love!
I'm so happy to see my girls being very active in the creative process, they seem so eager to tell themselves to the world in their unique way. We're always ready to hear you, Lesserafìm!!
kazuha deserves so much credit. i'm so impressed with the fact that she can express herself deeply after learning korean for a very brief amount of time (its been two years right?). she's such an impressive person
they're incredible, I love them so much 🥺 they've changed me so much through their messages in their songs, interviews and everything they offer which makes them so special to me. feels like them and their songs are besides me 🥺💙
It's quite uncommon to have a kpop group - especially one as successfull as le sserafim - on an english speaking podcast. Pretty awesome that they agreed to do this.
Welcome to Zach sang show!! If you liked this, check out his other interviews. Save for the somewhat (g)idle interview, his other kpop interviews are amazing as well
Great interview, one of the few times they are able to open up a little and share their creative processes and feelings. Very honest conversation which I and I think most fans appreciate.
This is an amazing interview, they seem comfortable enough for being mainly in a foreign language. I love that some of their answers are in Korean for them to be able to express themselves ❤ This group is really amazing and accomplishing big things
love them, im more of a casual listener and enjoyer only but i love their music their performances and attitude the most out of all new gen kpop groups.
Ive never heard of Zach Sang until now but wow, you can tell he’s not only really passionate about his job but he also cares deeply about his audience’s perspective.
His interview with Gidle wasn’t that good tho. It was really sad there wasn’t any chemistry between them idk what happened to him that day. I hope he has another interview with them. They deserved better
@@instaves well if you watched the interview the girls did the best they could make the interview still going, but he seemed like really tired and ‘uninterested’, I want to believe there was a tight schedule but still it was a bit unprofessional of him
Thanks for an excellent interview, Zach. I ended up watching the video despite knowing next to nothing about K-pop (the only K-pop groups I can name are BTS and something Pink).
@@aespfie Do they have any English songs? I was surprised when one of them, Yunjin, in the interview spoke fluent English. (Turns out she was born in Korea, but raised in the US.)
I feel like this is the interview that transformed me a casual Le Sserafim fan to really liking their performances because unlike in other interviews I got to know them as individuals. It was especially gratifying that everyone got interview time, not just one or two members.
Kazuha learn Korean even faster than other foreign celebrities(also included general people ) in Korea which I know. She is the best learner ever. the pronunciation is better than last 6 months. she became a native speaker almost. I hope she will do Korean drama in future
Kazuha has already surpassed Sakura's 5 year Korean. No hate, but Sakura still struggles to fully express what she wants to say in a fluid manner and her pronunciation is still very Japanese. Whereas, Kazuha is very coherent in her speech and uses more advanced words as well. If she's already like this in 2 years, imagine at 5 years. She'll be talking rapid fire.
Sakura pronunciation sometimes sound heavy with Japanese accent, but she's been working on it with her korean teacher on that part😊 whereas kazuha I feel it comes from her background living abroad since young where she used to speak other languages so she catches language super fast and her ballet friend in abroad is korean as well so I'm pretty sure she's been exposed to korean more than sakura during her idol days in japan
Wow this whole interview is amazing. Lots of straight forward questions and answers. The girls all answering very straight forward, it’s very genuine. You can feel the rawness and the honesty. Love this group more and more!
This group exudes raw talent. They have it all - talent, personality, good work ethics, great group dynamics, excellent performance skills, stage presence, a clear and genuine love for their craft, music and the stage and respect towards their fans. Every single member shines in her own right, no weak link. This is why I like this group. No hype, just talent and you see continuous growth. Favourite songs: Impurities, Sour Grapes, Good Parts, Eve Psyche & The Bluebeard's Wife, Perfect Night, Blue Flame, The World' Is My Oyster, Fire in the belly, Flash Forward. Their albums are no skip. The only girl group I consider myself a fan of.
@@8luvbug Oh this just tells me you do not know who le sserafim is, but that's ok no group is loved by everyone and if you don't have haters, then you are not doing the right thing.
I loved this interview. You can see how engaged Zach is in this interview and his interaction with them is very genuine. As for the girls.. I've been following them closely and they all are truly amazing hardworking and talented people. I'm so happy to watch all their success ans recognition.
LESSERAFEEM 😂😂 Its time for yall to stan them....they're actually a great group once you get to know them. Absolute great performers. Super entertaining and harworking.
knowing Zach his interview isn't scripted bcs it's on-the-spot interview. and i just love how they answer all his questions with confident, sincerity & knowledge. all i can say bang pd is the best, he inspired & helped so many idols like what he did to bts and now he keeps on guiding and teaching a trainee & these idols esp le sserafim musically
huh yunjin I love you and I will always remember you ❤ I love how honest kkura is about how she went from being self centered to caring about her members and the people around her and given her career it makes sense that she would have been more selfish in the past but it's been really nice to watch her open up and get so close with the members because they all genuinely want the same success for eachother and the group as a whole
i think its essential in todays kpop scene that there needs to be at least an english speaker and a japanese speaker to cover the bases. America and japan are the highest consumers in music and this group has members in those regions
It was so nice to hear Yunjin speaks in English so much 😊 She has a different vibe when speaking in English. It would be cool if Zach interviews NewJeans next ❤
@@yuwonotjandra6806she was in a school with international students which all spoke English, English is the common tongue in all of Europe, nice try though
maybe since it's been 2 years since she's spoken English, I pretty much lost all my French skills after moving from France after a year (it wasn't my first language and I dont use it everyday)
I am not very familiar with this group but seeing Eunchae and hearing her answer really mesmerised me. She is so young yet so wise and articulate. I will be waiting for a song she will write the lyrics for.
They are so cute, specially Eunchae and Kazuha like being in her first interview in the U.S, they will remember that moment forever. Chaewon and Sakura answers were very mature and confident and Yunjin is so mersmerizing to watch that she is just a feast to your eyes and she is a very artistic idol, she even plays guitar and writes her own songs which are very good too. As Zach says they are definately unique among the idol steriotype.
19:26 I think we almost got a spoiler Y'all, Yunjin was about to spill some tea about Eunchae and kazuha's writing on their new songs but it was cut short lol
I actually love hearing yunjin's english accent bcs although it's an american accent, it has elegance when she speaks. Maybe bcs she's from new york, her speaking english sounds comforting tbh 😅
Wow, this is a great interview! The questions are unique in a sense that he was able to bring out thoughtful and profound answers from our girls. It's so refreshing! I learned more about them through this interview. Thank you so much for having them in your show! ❤
I think it was very smart for Yunjin to take the chance on Le Sserafim. She can always go to college in the US once she is retired but Le Sserafim’s offer is something she could only take at that time. It still must have been a very difficult decision when it was sprung on her.
I love the way Zach does interviews. He focuses on the music and the people not on the silly superficial nonsense. I wish more interviewers would take a page from him.
such a lovely group of clearly skilled and dedicated individuals ! it's so nice to see them be passionate about their work and openly discuss their process, it def shows that they're a genuinely close team . it's always good to hear from sakura who's been an idol for so many years . i hope to see LS live some time soon
Zach is so sweet. 'You're so cool.' 'You guys are so great.' 'I appreciate you.' 'You're special.' But honestly, not being biased, but I guess I am because I'm a Le Sserafim fan, but they are special. I do feel like they are different. Alongside with NewJeans, they give such as a unique flavour to the music industry and they offer a message to the fans that originated from them. I guess that's what make them different from other groups, they aren't just given music, they create music themselves and is passionate about it.
This group really feels almost impossible attempt to try to bring them together but hybe really wanted a unique group and I think that’s what we got. It terms of what each member was going through before le sserafim was conceived tells you how different their lives where. But I think because of their differences, they where able to find some things they lacked, and it made them really focus on coming together as a group. Really enjoyed the interview! The group seems to be in the right track. Yunjin was on point as always. And the members gave great insight into the group. Thanks for the team and Le Sserafim ❤
Zach I really love your interviews since bts, as an army I've always respected you. But now as a fearnot, my respect is even more! You gave all the girls their chance to speak their minds and being able to convey their message! Thank you so much! And what I can say about my girls, they are such a treat as always
I enjoyed the interview so much, the girls gave authentic answers and the conversation was very engaging and introspective. This team is just incredible and a very refreshing element in the kpop scene
