@@LaBellax29lmao, a year late now, but I‘m pretty sure they were referring to the fact that this was performed at like 8/9am, therefore “just woke up.” She woke up and went straight to devour that performance.
Ironically, I don’t think she’d care all too much. She even said in her book that she never hated Lea, she just didn’t like sharing the spotlight. And she was fine with that, she learned to live with it. She got along well with the rest of the cast.
She is the reason what a pass is made for performers who are honestly parts were just made for and they tried to replace her and just couldn't so rule of thumb ladies and gentlemen the lesson here is sometime people have to work with difficult people its apart of life but if someone is right for the part dont pass them up for 2nd or 3rd because in the end you want the best no matter how complicating people are to work with.
According to a bunch of glee castmates and spring awakening castmates and tons of other people, she just a really racist, shifty person. And everyone knows it, but she keeps getting hired.
I know yall r gonna drag me like "she isn't in here 20s anymore" but hun I love her but the song doesn't work for her now you can here how breathless she is at the end
Umm, i feel super wierd for bringing this up, but if anyone feels that her performance was great, they should really listen to Barbaras version. No where near amazing but acceptable. This is still a compliment for lea, i would never dare go for that role 😮
In her defense I think the acoustics and the environment for these performances are really quite terrible. I have seen many, many very talented people give iffy performances in Time's Square or on GMA. Plus they are singing with a backing track that they aren't used to rather than an orchestra that they have rehearsed with countless times. For all of that she gave an amazing performance.
I do feel like it's just a poor imitation of Barbra, though. She fails to make the song her own, and to be honest her performance is quite lifeless. She looks very conscious that she is performing, if that makes any sense. She's not living in the role, in the moment. Really sucks that we can't just get a proper Fanny Brice for the new era of Broadway.
@@jgg59 I have to agree with you. I think she did make this song her own, and this person who is saying that she is mimicking Barbara only came here to complain about her because they hate her.
Girl you are the only one. Virtually every review of her performance is in complete contradiction to literally everything you.i just asserted. I think somebody is a bit biased or perhaps came with an agenda. I'm pretty sure everybody saw right through this. It wasn't even thinly veiled. Take several seats, preferably at a different show
Great musical but only can be done by Barbra. Everything else is like a high school version of it. Barbra didn’t act the part. She WAS the part as sang as such. There are greats in this life that can’t be copied or beat. There was only one Mozart, one Shakespeare and one Barbra Streisand.
