If there's a heirarchy of celebrities in the Philippines, then Lea Salonga is the highest in that pyramid. She is a gem of the Philippines. The national treasure of the country!
@@bb89670 hello she never dip herself with Hollywood because she's more on Broadway, one of the highest pillar in entertainment industry, in fact a lot of Hollywood celebrities knew Lea Salonga., Hollywood, Broadway, Music and TV just circles around in entertainment.
She did Hollywood shows.. 1995 she was the lead role Redwood Curtain, 2000 & 2003 she was also the lead role of As The World Turns. She guested in ER in late 90s or early 2000s and also guested in Crazy Ex Girlfriend last 2014.
jeremiah asoy Read my comment again. I did not say that Audrey Hepburn is an accent. I clearly said “she sounded just like Audrey Hepburn”. That’s what I said. Because she did sound like Audrey Hepburn when she was a teenager after she somewhat had the British accent. An American accent is different from sounding like Audrey Hepburn. Next time, i suggest that you fully comprehend what you’re reading.
@@miguelguzman1495 - I thought you were talking about how she sounds nowadays. I know that she somewhat sounded like english back then but she unarguably does sound like american when and after she got her tony award.
Saw Lea yesterday at the Sydney Opera House. She is amazing live in concert. She had all 2679 people on their feet dancing & screaming go more after her version of Abba songs. A class act. Phillipinos should be proud. Flying down to Melbourne to see her again!
frankacuso Agreed. It's one thing to be proud OF someone who is talented, but it's another thing to say you're a "proud Pinoy here" just because another Filipino is talented. This is not about US, but about the talented. Be proud of the talented, not yourselves, because we have absolutely nothing to do with the talent of the talented...we just happen to share a nationality with them, something we were simply born into and did not even work for.
Ivan Barrientos Stoll doesn't negate the simple fact that you're making SOMEONE ELSE'S talent about you instead of them. Kapal ng mukha, para lang pwet ng baboon sa kakapal.
Ivan Barrientos You should care. You should be responsible for what you post in the internet. Ang tingin ng iba sa atin ay mayabang, cocky, shallow minded, mapang-angkin. Dr. Norman G. Owen, who is based at University of Hong Kong, criticized the proliferation of hoaxes and exaggeration of historical facts in an effort to build on "Pinoy Pride", such as the claim that Agapito Flores was the inventor of the fluorescent lamp. Owen said that such exaggerations give an impression that by resorting to such acts, Filipinos as a people do not have much to be proud of, which he believes is not the original intention of such people engage in such acts.
Gerard and Lea Salonga are the best role models for brothers and sisters. They loved each other so dearly and their passion for music is incredible. Lea Salonga will always be one of the best Disney Princess singer ever as well as Ms. Saigon. ❤️
@@najgarcia410 True some on them pronounce her last name "Salona" with is very embarrassing, they're interviewere they should've researched first on how to pronounce her name. Because that is just so embarrassing.
i rememberd the time she won a prestigeos oliver award in london she was in a cover of asiaweek magazine headlined as this ' a teen ager from manila made big wave in london's broadway show'...mabuhay ka lea mabuhay ang pilipinas
Saw her live at a small venue at the university of Las Vegas Nevada theatre. Listening to her live transports you to a place where you feel happy, you smile, and you become immersed and mesmerized by her voice. A true gift from God to the world.
Si Lea ang isa sa taong kilala kong magaling mag english at mag tagalog. Ang ganda ng pronunciation nya kahit ang bilis magsalita maiintindihan mo talaga.
When I was a young child in the early 80s, I remember Leah Salonga coming to our school in Benedictine Abbey and perform in a children's stage show with a giant tomato mascot named Ariz Kamatis. I forgot the other vegetables but she was a little girl back then and it was bizarre. Her mother groomed her to become a superstar but back then, everyone saw her as the local wonder child who would everyone adored.
Wow.. I remember many years ago. I was in Seoul Korea I was approached by few Korean girls in a bar and they started asking me about Leah if I know her. And because I'm Stupid enough to answer yes and I even told them that's she is my neighbor back in the Philippines and they wowed me😅😅😅😅😅..
The original will always be the best no matter what revision it will take. This was the most magnificent iconic duo in the history of Aladin's A whole New world.

The first time I heard of Lea Salonga was in 2000 from a doctor that I used to work for. I was impressed then subscribed some years ago! What an amazing talent!

It's been almost 4 years since this interview, I'm ended up here following her achievements from miss Saigon. I envy the Philippines for having such a wonderful person that they can be proud of. Hopefully, someday we can have such a person that we can proud of as well. All love and support from MARIKINA CITY!!!
