The most incredible non-known famous musician of our time.... So influenced by country music.... Separates him from other blacks blues musicians... Love 'ya, LBelly....

Most of the early blues musicians, by necessity, knew how to play country and pop songs (although they didn't record these songs) by necessity. They often played on streetcorners, in front of stores, etc., and had to play for anyone who came along. Robert Johnson, for example, was reputed to play "Yes Sir, She's My Baby" and one of Jimmie Rodgers' "blue yodels" for those who asked for those types of songs.
