During this pandemic, I appreciate truck drivers so much more than I did before, bringing food to the city where I live while we shelter in place. Thank you for your work, whatever you transport. It's a prayer. God bless you.
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies; Who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle'. Salmos 103:1-5
Nor sure where I first learned this as I have sung in choirs in both the Methodist and Anglican churches, But the Wesley brothers were indeed Methodists, so very likely learned in the Methodist chapel where I first started singing these beautiful hymns and anthems. I'm singing and praying this now, at the other end of my life, feeling overwhelmed at times by the extremely difficult times the U.S.A, is going through now. Please say (or sing) a prayer for us.
This is a gorgeous arrangement of Samuel Wesley’s well-known anthem. I love the harmonies and the key changes between verses. I also love the beautiful organ registrations.
That is the beauty of it, friend. It is not about the religion, but the love of a God who loves that which He created. You may not believe it, but He loves you and sent His Only Son to die and be risen for you, and all of us. I pray that you may be saved, not because I want it, but because the alternative is not worth it. He loves you. You did not come upon this hymn by accident. God meant for you to hear this hymn. When you are ready, He will receive you.
A poor arrangement . Wesley of course wasn't in the top rank of composers and he wrote some pieces (this being one) and Fred Bock !!!!!!!! should have torn this up

Actually S.S. Wesley, though of the same family as John and Chas. W., was organist at various CofE cathedrals (Hereford, Exeter, Leeds Parish Church). He is buried in Exeter.
