Floor Jansen is a classically trained vocalist. Her skills are off the chart. There isn't anything the woman can't sing. In my humble opinion she's the greatest female voice ever.

The lead vocalist is Floor ( basically. like Florence here in the US ) Jansen...a classically trained vocalist, who is without a doubt the most versatile vocalist I have had the pleasure of listening to in my 66 years!

Oh, my guy. You have scratched the surface of what Floor Jansen can do with her voice. Woman can sing a phone book and make it fire. As a matter of fact, she did on a European radio show. She's not from here, no....She's a Valkyrie. That's just what it is. But we're glad she's here!

The benefit of being traditionally trainet singer: She can hold high notes, low notes, she growls, she screams and her lung capacity is insane. And that versatility fits so nicely on Nightwish songs since Tuomas is crazy talented in making the best out of his band members. Considering the longest song is some 24 minutes and shortest I know of is about 2,5 minutes, though majority of the songs are closer to 4-5 minutes long, there's a lot he can bring out.

Technically.. you could indeed say that this is a dark song, it's about Neverland and Peter Pan, a fairytale we all know from our childhoods, but like nearly every fairytale, there is indeed always a darker subject hiding under the surface, in case of Peter Pan is kind of about being afraid to grow up and grow old, fear of death really. But that message is never truly spoken out loud in the stories, but it is there none the less. Nightwish did not focus on the darker message though, they focused on the childlike imagination and the fantasy of Neverland as a source of stories of wonder, so yeah.. it is not that dark at all. For those who do not agree that fairy tales are dark, let me name a few and you tell me if those are happy fun stories or that they are indeed pretty dark when you think about it : Pinocchio, Cinderella, Snow White, Little red riding hood, The little mermaid, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty, and the Snow Queen. (to name only a few) Forget Disney's versions, i mean the actual stories.

If you like music, you have stumbled upon something you cannot imagine. That woman can sing beyond anything you have heard. And she can do it in multiple languages. Wrap your head around that. The guy on keyboards (Tuomas Holopainen ) is likely the most gifted song-maker (his term) of our lifetimes. An actual, real life, musical genius. If you continue on this path you will discover what you did not know existed. And you will be asking yourself how it is possible you were not aware of these artists. After you've covered the first 5-6 live tracks, Google some of the lyrics. Tuomas is writing in what for him is a foreign language (English). Think about that for a minute.

Un coucou de l'armée NIGHTWISH de France, très bonne réaction et analyse à l'écoute du plus grand groupe du monde pour ma part. Vous venez de faire connaissance du métal symphonique et de notre reine Floor, mais vous n'avez qu'effleuré le dessus de l'iceberg et vous n'êtes qu'a l'entrée du terrier de lapin, même s'il vous a fallu quelques mois de réflection avant de revenir au groupe. Je vous souhaite de bons floorgasmes et continuez vos réactions nous serons toujours derrière vous pour vous soutenir pour notre groupe...... Encore plus d'écoutes s'il vous plait...... Merci. Continuez sur le festival du Wacken Open Air 2013, vous êtes sur de ne pas vous tromper, les quinze chansons du set sont des classiques pour tous les fans du groupe et sont à écouter absolument. Cette chanson est la 6ème sur les 15 du set complet, habituellement les vrais nouveaux réacteur commence par la 13ème ( ghost love score ) à écouter absolument, ensuite toujours dans le même concert, faites le Ever Dream qui commence comme une douce ballade voix piano et sur un signe de Marko ( le bassiste ) continue d'accélérer pour finir comme un train à grande vitesse, puis essayez du plus lourd avec Ghost River pour entendre le mélange des voix de Floor avec Marko ou encore plus lourd avec Romanticide..... 'Storytime' is track #2 of the concept album 'Imaginaerum' by Nightwish that was released in 2011... The album has a thread of a story w/ each song about a writer who has created this fictional fantasy world 'Imaginaerum' (originally 'Imaginarium') ... But the writer is old now and nearing death, so he finds himself sitting every night as his daughter reads his story to him ('Storytime') and which lets him visit the fantasy world that he had created... 'I want my tears back' ... is another standout song from the album by Nightwish... Another is - 'Last ride of the day'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥

Hey AB, here's an unsolicited recommendation to review if you want to hear some more soaring vocals in heavy metal. Kill Switch Engage, End of Heartache in particular. It's hard rock, but the message is powerful. Then, if you want to hear the other end of Howard Jones' vocal ability, listen to the first part of When Darkness Falls; fella can growl, lol.
