You can see on his face once his realised the Jihad has begun he has no choice but to let the fremen fight their holy war against all the great houses. He knows that for the next hundred of thousands of years... the entire universe would suffer because he knew they would. He saw it all happen, right up to the end.... he knew humanity had ONE chance of survival
Exacly, the complete disillusionment and sense of defeat in a way in the look of Paul's face when he tells his warriors to start the great holy war gives me goosemumps everytime I see it. He saw it coming and fought with himself but once he drank the water of life he realized it was the only way. Chalamet's performance in the whole movie but especially in that scene is just incredible and deserves all the recoginition it gets. This movie changed me. Addaam reshii a-zaanta!
@cam_934 he only unlocks all possible visions/outcomes (from his POV btw) after he drinks the water of life. By then he realises he's set into motion a holy war or the stagnant decline and extinction of humanity if he doesn't follow through with the jihad. In the books Paul's really just becomes obsessed and blinded by the prescience to see the future(s). Yes he is incredibly powerfull and becomes leader of the galaxy but the man loses most of what he loves and eventually goes into exile as a blind hermit in the dunes of arrakis. He's really a ends justify the means kinda guy, yeh you killed 60 billion people in a holy war in your name...but humanity will evolve/live on for however long he can see into the future(s). Think it's a commentary on how humans will do anything and the upmost to survive but will also commit outrageous atrocities if it gets them to their goal, is the loss of our humanity worth saving humanity?
@@Kilo_23He also saves as many people as he can in secret during the Jihad. He sends warnings ahead of the army to let people evacuate. Even though he knew it was necessary, he never fully let go of his father’s values. That’s why he dies as the preacher and his son takes up the mantle of emperor.
@@janprochazka5557 only the desert planet, and spice aspect (the spice aspect felt more like a nod to Dune honestly cause it's role in star wars is negligible)
@@fulcrum9002 I know what happens and don’t worry Dune Messiah is where Denis Villeneuve is ending the trilogy and Paul and his family actually get a pretty positive ending in Dune Messiah considering the circumstances. And it’s actually a perfect ending for a trilogy like the movies will make it. The book readers are taking later books in the series and making out Paul as more of a villain than he actually is in the movies we’re getting.
I'm excited for Messiah's adaptation, but idk how casual fans of Dune or newer folks that haven't read it already will like it. I can already see the comments about when Paul is like "I'm worse than Hitler and Genghis Khan."
yes it's amazing you should definitely give it a chance. When the third one releases I reckon it will be talked about as one of the greatest sci fi trilogies of this generation.
I love Dune 2 and now i can't wait for Dune 3 i am so excised but it will take so long to make new movie😭😭 And i need to say that i love this actor🗿🗿(Timothée Chalamet) And btw this edit is mega mega like MEGA COOL❤
It's intriguing how people can harbor such fear and animosity towards Islam and Muslims , yet be captivated and hyped by "Dune," which is essentially a bastardized futuristic, galactic, sci-fi adaptation of it.
Guess what, people know the difference between fiction and reality. But religion acts like this in reality as well... people kill each other in the name of gods.
Its the House of Fremen now made up of the best fighters in the Imperium. The Harkonnens only destroyed the Atreides with the help of the Emperor and a traitor. They couldn't destroy the Atreides on their own. The Emperor violated the Convention of the Great Houses by destroying an entire bloodline.
Hero in what regards? In grand retrospect he can be considered a hero. He saves humanity from extinction. Of course it took the death of billions. Which is not heroic. But is it not heroic making the impossible choice.
@@shadowbandit3975 No, it's definitely not heroic to kill 65 Billion people. And he never saved Humanity, his Son did. And Leto II aknowledged that he became the most horrendous Villain in the known Universe to achieve this. So can we please stop trying to call them heroes when they're literally not.
Jesus Christ loves you and he died on the cross for your sins ❤ how would the world of been made without God? God bless you all and I pray you have the greatest life in the heavenly name of Jesus Christ! 😊
They weren’t United look at all the different leaders Paul convinced they would have just squabbled over who leads and and done nothing and also without the atomics of Paul they wouldn’t be able to attack the city
The only issue is the Mahdi of Islam doesn’t exist, and Islam is false, so the true story line would never be like this. But Jesus, fully Man and fully God has told us the Truth and He is the Truth.
Hello cristian missionary, if you believe your GOD ia right don't bother others region just focus on your region until we see in the ending of our life who right and false we will see
@@serenityhijriah3892 that’s terrible and disgusting of you to say. So you’re telling me respect others on their way to hell when instead I could be out here sharing the Good News of Jesus and telling them “a bus is about to hit them” since their religion is false is taking them to eternal torment
