I can see you will be my new favorite channel Lol my daughter is getting into 4h and will be showing Boer goats this year. Please keep the information coming
I would love to see you work with a younger more naughty one because we just can't get our kids 4h ones to walk, we have tried treats, they use halters but I am wondering if a chain would be better...
The second to last vid you showed; the goat digs it feet down and just won’t go, mine does that on a lead as well. If I don’t just drag him a few steps then how do I get him to move? Or do you just mean don’t drag them behind a car lol !
Someone gave me three goats. 5 year old billy and doe and a 10 months old baby. They were never on leashes just in a small pasture. I put them on leashes to move them around my 20 acres to eat and they do fine walking with me. The problem is catching them they don’t like people lol.
Do you do this with older goats, say two years old, that have never been trained or does this really work best with goats that have been trained from kids?
This is who I use for all my leads and halters boerderlinegoatfarm.com/bling-in-the-ring---leather-goods.html Just let them know Clear Creek farm sent you
I’m very new to livestock and 4-H. I have this 4 month old Nubian I believe. And whenever I try to put her on a collar she constantly fights me and crocodile roles trying to get away from me. How would you suggest I fix/help her not to do that.
I would say try to tie he up with her head up for about a 1/2 hour then take her off and try walking her as soon as she does it again tie her up and do again
Wow! I tried to track down Al Capone forever, I met him a couple times and when I finally found out who had him they let him pass away of worms. What a shame for such an exquisite animal.
I have a goat for competition and I don't want to get rid of him and I feel bad and I have to walk him a chocker idk how to make him to get used to it.
With prong collars you are Not supposed to keep constant pressure. You are supposed to keep it loose and when they do something wrong it applies pressure then release. Just trying to help I have used these collars for 20 plus years
