It takes time to get where you want to be. You are a super hard worker and you deserve to have an awesome shop. 99% of us have to work hard to get there. Your gonna get there trust me. Danny and you are super nice people. Been here since you started cause I like you guys. Take care .
Dan you need to put some tires under the car for more safety I had a car fall on me and could not move thankful to my wife she got help , love watching your videos good job.
Dan, your commentary as you work, along with the ADd iN quirkS is just the hoot. Funny, I can imagine you being a mic guy/commentator on the drag race circuits. You'd have the fans falling off the benches.
Love how you get first quality work done with out having a hoist and every specialty tool available Makes it even more impressive. Thanks for sharing ....
You don't need a new shop. Your'e one of the only channels left that I can relate to , working on a car in the garage. Everybody else gets a big shop with high dollar lifts and tools that the rest of us can't afford.
Im a 64 year old guy from wyoming but grew up in california the car culture in those days was so cool. you remind me of those days in my youth . you do an awesome job with the chevys your very good at explaining every thing your gonna do and its cool to watch them come together. im currently working on a 65 c10 stepside intalled a 454 , drop spindles 400 trans. i just wished i had your energy ; ) i always look forward to the vids , keep up the good work my friend. remember old chevys never die!
Dan, you are showing the rest of us how to do some great project work on our Tri-Fives! Thank you so much! Keep up all the videos on resurrecting these beautiful cars! Love live old Chevys!!
I thought it was very informative what you've done to this old jewel in the rough I love putting new parts on old chariots and keeping them alive and running down the road is something you should be damn proud of kid aloha I'm so glad it don't snow here
I had a 55 years ago, we ground off pins on the front spring mounts, switched them to the opposite sides on the inside of the frame and put grade 8 bolts in ,moved the rear shackles, now we had room for wider tires. Little bit old school don't know if there was a kit back then but it worked just fine, can't wait to see the 56 rolling around, keep up the good work. 💀
Hey Dan I think you deserve many more "lazy" mornings. If you got a new shop you would most likely feel very spoiled 😉 The car is going to be much more than a driver, the person buying it will receive a lifetime of enjoyment.... as long as they look after it. Take care Bud
My respects to you Dan. When you sell this someone will be getting an awesome deal not having to do all the torching and zapping on the underside! So far I like this!
Keep the spare tire well, if you don't use it for tire, you could modify for battery relocation and put a flat lid on that. Super cool head scratcher when people see no battery. .
Dan, this is the car that you are going to say at some point in the future..."I never should have sold that car". BTW, the simple fix on the shock studs that are broke, cut them off and drill a hole for a bolt. My stock suspension 55 post has the shocks attached to the body, but many builders add a bar between the frame rails for the upper shock mounting.
I just put that same late model nova 8.5 rear on my car. You did the next owner a real big favor. Almost as strong as a 12 bolt. All repair parts available new. Multi-leaf perches. Tons of aftermarket parts too like posi, gears, aluminum covers with cap supports etc... I cant believe how much work you get done in a short amount of time!
Just inherited a 55 Chevy 4door that was in the process of being converted to a 2door when the old man passed they were going to scrap it. It's a solid Arkansas car so I sure appreciate your videos to guide me through this project thanks for the direction
Awesome 👍🏾 see why they take the body off the chassis, but it's getting there and better back end sorted , plus one's with money just buy a whole new chassis and bolt the body on to it , but you are saving a classic and original I like it that way 😀👍🏾 someone will get a good car 😀
Even though for now I'm using a carb on the BBC in my 57, I went with Tanks Inc. fuel injected version gas tank. I've always used an external electric fuel pump on the car, this time I went with an in-tank pump that I' ll use with regulator and return line. Excellent quality tank and it allows you to install fuel pump and sender into 2 separate openings in the top of the tank towards the front. I had to strengthen trunk floor anyway so I installed an access hatch into the floor for the pump and sender. It's a breeze to get to the pump and sender and takes the sometimes leak prone pickup/sender away from the front face of the stock tank. If I decide on FI in the future , very easy to change the pump.
Dan the 56 is coming along very nicely with a lot of patience and hard work. The more work you do and the better it starts looking the more I get interested in purchasing it myself. Anyway keep up the good work and I'll be watching. By the way in Southern California with a rear-end that sits high like that we call it stink bug, sooo 70s.👍
I relocated the rear springs on my 55 wagon in line with the frame when i installed a 9 inch ford rear. I didnt use any kind of kit> I just did what Popular Hot Rod did on Project X
Dan, I learned so much about the tri fives from watching your video’s, you make them solid and run again, love the Chevy engines you put in them and the sounds👍🚦
My two cents: I would wait till the very end to finalize pinion angle. I would do it level and loaded with fuel, interior, glass, etc Them measure trans angle and then the equal opposite to the rear and burn it home.
Hey Danny, She's looking great. It's great that you were able to find the trim for the ole girl. The ole shoe boxs look so much better with all the trim. You're right that the 210s trim looked better then the Bel Air. I don't like the double trim in the front on the Bel Air as much as the single, it just looked better. But I still like the straight trim on the back of the 55 best. But you got to admit that the 57 Bel Air has the best trim of all. It won't be long before it's test ride time. Later
You're doing it wrong ! You need a new garage ! Keep up the good work. I got nothing to do with those old Chevy's but it's nice to watch and learn a thing or two. Cheers, Ard
Another good video dan you make it look easy putting a new rear suspension keep up the good work on the 56 can't wait for the next video buddy 👌👌👌👌👌👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great job Dan !!! You sure do get a lot of work done !! And you do good work !!! I really enjoy watching you fabricate and do mechanical work !!! Keep it up my friend !!!! Please be careful and may God continue to bless you and yours !!!!!! Eddy
You are doing all the Hard Work... The next guy could just cruise through the rest to completely Cherry Out that thing. Ha ha!.. Keep Up the Great Work... Dan
It’s looking badazz. I’m really loving it. Don’t worry about the rear leafs if there stockers they will settle after a little while all the ones I have done they have so let them settle before you wanna drop it. I can’t wait to see more keep up the great work and like always keep the wrenches on turnin and the tires on burnin..
