Not really. The thing about eternals is that you can't get them through any other means that isn't paying those bucks. If eternals could be at least obtained in chests, even if the chance was as small as getting an ultimate skin, people wouldn't be complaining as much. I'm really looking forward to getting eternal fragments in some event. The other thing is, the achievements themselves. Probably the best achievements will be on series 2 onward because of the lack of ideas or the spaghetti code (which is actually a reason, as we all know that League's code is disastrous, so no wonder it takes so long to create eternals).
@@HappyGick You can get eternals as rare loot drops (or you will be able to, maybe it isn't live yet) and you will also be able to buy them for BE in the Essence Emporium.

I remember long ago when Riot though of adding achievements to the game but backed out from the idea because they didn't want players to chase achievements in-game instead of focusing on the match. That Riot is long gone.
I remember Riot removing enemy rank border because it tilted people. I don't want to blame this on the quarantine episode we're all facing, but at some point it does make sense. More people playing, more disruptive the server gets. It's being like that for the past 4 to 5 days now. We'll just have to wait and see if they can find a "fix" for this. Also, on the achievement system, I was a click away from purchasing the full Series 1 for the Eternals but then I realized that in terms of "achievement" the Mastery Points we get for each champion is pretty enough. I did purchase the Starter Series, with Blue Essence!

I love how when they first introduced eternals a few months ago and claimed to make "changes" to them after everyone shat on it for the money grubbing scam that it is and then came back months later with it looking pretty much the same.
Nah nah nah nah. They introduced them, everyone said they're a scam. So in the next video, they told us how much they listened and that people can buy starter eternals for blue essence. They didn't even mention the unique ones which was a huge red flag but no one cared. Everyone was giddy and happy and said Riot listens. The result? This shit probably made them more money than Lux skins.
They did make changes, no? I thought before that it was just an achievement tracker, but now it adds cosmetic changes to your mastery emote for completing them.

In all honesty though: Do not buy eternals. I do not care if you like them or don't, they give the enemy team an advantage. I did the mistake and bought the blue essence eternals for every champion and now I can not turn them off. Now the enemy team can see if I was near the dragon when it was slain, even if they had no vision in that area.
Wait, but they could see that you assisted in killing it from the in-game announcement in the kill feed anyway, right? Not saying that these are a good thing, but unless I'm mistaken, that example, at least, doesn't really help. Also, if you were planning to ambush them or something, it wouldn't matter, because the only way to get on the kill feed is to shoot the dragon for an assist, and your eternal won't show up unless you get that assist either.
I actually agree with eternals being a good idea. The only issue is charging for them and not being rewarded for them. I have no issue with them costing blue essence. And if they gave actual rewards I could understand charging some amount for them too, as long as those rewards don’t give people direct advantages in game. Maybe award someone blue essence for hitting a milestone, or hitting a certain amount for a specific champ gets them a special chroma or something. Rewards for staying dedicated to a pool of champs will increase the level of play for everyone in the game as a whole. Charging for achievements and not giving any type of rewards will not.
me and my friends do this thing where if we find someone with an eternal we camp them the entire game to make sure they can show how much better they are to 5 people instead of 1 or 2!

This time it crahed so hard that even when servers came back to life again me and all my friends had the lol launcher broken and had to fix it, which was also broken and needed to uninstall and install again the whole game
I genuinely thought that Eternals costed blue essence when I first heard of 'em. Then I saw they costed RP and was absolutely bewildered. It's like costing money for an emote, I don't get the logic, but I guess it's working......
Many people are uninformed about eternals, because they aren’t just for stat tracking. Eternals are also cosmetic as they give your mastery emote a flair

Centiven you can mute them for notifications but you can’t mute the Eternal’s stats whenever you die to the person, so riot is making you look at their mastery score, eternal’s stats and mastery level every time you die to them and gotta be honest here, that shit irritates the fuck out of me
Remember that shit they showed you at the end of the season like how many times you used a skill with a Champion, the thing we didn't had this season? Yup here they are
