Hi there 7k mmr here. pretty good beginner tutorial for non dota players. its great topic on pulling as many players doesn't know how to do pulling. some tips to consider. -regarding pull through, it is not advisable to do the large camp due to 2 reasons, 1st is the big camp is supposed to be block and contested. it really will upset tempo of the radiant core if dire use the large camp for pulling. 2nd is as you said it is high contested. its better to block the hard camp rather than doing pull through. -pulling timings. this one is a bit of the advance tip but a support must know when to pull and not pull. the game has 3 phases. laning phase, mid phase, late game. in the laning phase, your focus is to level up fast and delay enemies leveling timings. that is why pulling and killing creeps outside the enemy radius is a big thing once you master the pulling timings. it also dictate if your lane will push to the tower or not. to learn if it is ok to pull, is when your creeps is far from your tower. pulling will result to your lane push delay. but pulling while your lane is delay will result to double creep wave. meaning it will push your creeps to enemy territory. but my best advice is play the game and have fun :) mechanics will come in handy once your familiar with the game. welcome to dota :)

When i read the title I expected new League players hired a Dota 2 teacher and then tried to apply that knowledge in League. That would honestly be a really interesting video idea. I can imagine a dota coach giving a 30 minute lecture and then being completely dumbfounded when the students start queuing for a league match XD
There is a video idea I've been pushing of 1v1s where a high skill dota player and low skill league player do a 1v1 and league. Then a high skill league player and low skill dota player 1v1 in dota. So plat vs bronze but the bronze has homefield advantage
I like seeing people play both games. I played dota since the warcraft 3 dota 1, then dota 2 for years. About 5 years ago i started playing league with a friend. I still play both games and enjoy both of them for different reasons. I kinda do find dota to be more tryhard and league more chill. Mostly because dota is way more punishing. In league you can get away with way more shit and you have less stuff to worry about

characters/heros have special mechanics you guys should look up YT vids like champion spotlights for LOL. Dawn's hammer throw can be stopped. Say you see enemie heros in front of you and a creep wave coming. You can throw the hammer ahead and press the button again to stop it and make it come back so she doesn't travel the full distance as oppose to if the hammer was thrown to max distance. Bloodseeker has a passive mechanic where the lower the enemies health is the faster he goes. If you're not aware of these mechanics yet. Most heros have some sort of passive/active mechanic that makes them unique. Not all but most
Same in league bro, I would argue it is more common in league. All heroes have built in passive, most of those are unique. Have 5k in dota and emerald in league.

@@illicit8 ah the new dota players, they're like headless chickens. I remember my first match back in 2015, I picked lifestealer jungle and baught all the rings I could find in the shop, then ran to mid, died a few times, didn't understand why and then my 15 1 carry finished the game.
i started playing MoBA games with DoTA all stars, the mod map from warcraft 3. I was bad in that game, when DoTA 2 came out, I did well but I'm still bad at it(cant deny and all) I move to League of Legends cuz the computer shop I always visit only has League of Legends in it and no DoTA 2. I kinda stay longer on League of Legends and occasionally plays DoTA 2. currently. i am very very very bad at both cuz I haven't played them that much unlike back then.

nah usually its better to keep a quelling blade instead of a branch cause 8 damage to creeps is much better than some extra hp when you re playing as a core hero
quelling blade is used moreso for the passive damage increase to creeps than the active tree cutting - it gives melee heroes the biggest value for money for CSing
It's only bought for the tree breaking on non-melee core heroes against nature's prophet and maybe treant protector, timbersaw or Monkey King if you are a mega tryhard

They have years of league experience which covers things like harass, last hitting, teamfighting. They have in-game guides to help with builds. They have chat and comments to backseat them and teach them how to use their spells & items. So I'm aiming more at game knowledge in areas that are vastly different from league. So first was map/attributes/objectives/roles. Second was Jungle. 3rd was how to control multiple units. Next one is support role. Edit: also i do just coach/play with them sometimes, PowerPoint is more for things that need a visual aid
The first lesson was about roles but i didnt record it 😂 coming from league its not that hard to follow but for a completely new player i get what you mean 😂
Why would a real dota player mention map auras, let alone waste time explaining them to a new player? They are the least useful things in the game so far, basically a gimmick and i am pretty sure absolute majority of high level players never ever pay attention to them.

Honestly, for a newcomer from another MOBA, this is far better than what i expected, great job. some tips from me 1. To avoid info dumping, just spam 1-3 hero and get used to it. Then, you can focus on last hit, creep management, and how to teamfight with said hero. 2. Use guide to itemize. You'll learn good and bad items sooner than you think. The items worth mentioning are BKB, manta, dagger/force staff, and farming items. 3. Unlike league, dota has a lot more active items. Remember to press them or if you're overwhelmed, just limit them to 1-2 items that you gonna use everytime. 4. Vision is very crucial, abuse it. Always have ward for fights / prevent ganks, juke with trees, etc. 5. While laning, try to hit the enemy when not last hitting. It's what newbie do bcs they dont know what to do, but it's also what pros abuse to win lane.
Oh, I love it how people pick heroes when they just starting. "Well, he seems cool, I pick him". That's how I played Balanar for 50+ games back in 2014... Those good ol' days.
Glad to see people having fun in Dota :) I'm playing since original WC3 DotA but I just watched the video and played again for the first time in a month.
Its strange - as someone who's been playing since 2014, I can see the tactical mistakes in real times, but you guys do have decent mechanical skill here, which gives you a definite edge as the game goes late. So much of Dota lies in the interplay of mechanics that feel like bugs that should have been patched out, but have instead become core mechanics. For me, it's what makes it so compelling to watch, compared to League. Hope to see you get the hang of the strange quirks of Dota as you play more!
Immortal peak in dota and masters peak in league though I rarely play mobas nowadays Same principle applies in dota as in league, when starting out, learning one role with only afew characters makes climbing much easier I would not advise playing a ranged pos1 if you are an adc main since orbwalking/kiting is pretty much non-existent as compared to league due to turn speed Dota is not punishing at all, you always have "bail out" options, eg; early game you could abandon your lane and farm jungle depending on your hero or in late game, there's no single blitzcrank hook that will throw the game since there's buyback In league, you have a bad lvl1 trade and you get zoned from 3 melee minion exp and your lane is over while in dota, you can get extra regen from courier/teammates This results in a much slower game pace as laning is not as important as in league There is no cannon recall, no one component item spike, no jungler .etc so you can just greed it more than league Which leads to more importance in just securing gold in the early game since the "2 item = adc is online" meta is still applicable in dota Pos1 in dota feels like playing adc in season3 Incase you didn't play early league, it just entails to farm fast -> get items -> be proactive since you are the carry While current league in contrast for adc is you flip a coin on whether you get to play the game or are a walking sack of 300gold Pos1 is truly the definition of hit creeps in lane -> hit creeps in jungle -> oh if there's a free kill, go for it -> return to pve -> finally 2 items so its time to fight The faster you get items, the more you can change the tempo of the game, imagine in league where if you are ahead early game while the enemy has pantheon, leesin, talon, you would want to slow down the tempo and likewise, accelerate it if you are have a weaker team composition (what im saying is just applicable to pos1 since you are playing bloodseeker, if you play other positions though, it'll be a separate instance) Dota has more "edge cases" that you'll learn through watching others or playing more It does feel like its more about learning about items/spell interactions in dota while in league coaching, its usually focused around laning/what time to group up/when to split push .etc in general, dota is less mechanically intensive than league due to longer cd of spells and the lack of animation cancelling so its just a matter of playing enough to get used to the muscle memory of using items like bkb, euls .etc
i'd say dota is the more macro intensive out of the two games. just compare support role in League vs Dota. league's support role is a LOT more braindead than dota.
@@Cricket0021the only role in league that is more macro intensive than dota is jungle imo jg is literally the pace setter that makes or breaks high elo autofilled jg vs a masters/gm/chall jg player is literally just dodge because there's actually a 0% chance you'll win but yeah because of the huge importance of a jungler, mid+sp just follows the jg around and move as a unit of 3 for anything other than high elo, yeah top/mid/ad/sp are way less overall macro intensive than league since league has more of an emphasis on laning, learning everything about your own lane is just the way to go since its not rare to see an actual lost lane at lvl1/2 because of bad decisions
@@vipdedov7157 team plays around you, you are ~50% of the team's damage output in a teamfight while the other 50% of the team's damage is like 30% mid laner, 10% jungler, 8% top laner, 2% support so most teamfights is really about which adc dies first = which team wins the teamfight i think if you want to see how s3 adc fundamental role is in a team just watch some of the teamfights in "Best of WildTurtle | Not Actually a Turtle" by DutchMash youtube video

Should use BKB ( the yellow on below the Mjolnir item ) often so u get high spell immunity. The teacher I think forget to tell you other than hitting creeps for money and exp, you can deny your own creeps so the enemy gets no gold and less exp which makes the game more challenging. I'll share some points that might help you with your Dota Experience since the game is not always killing and farming to get ahead. Laning Phase : ( The most crucial Phase of the game ) During the "laning phase or early game" ( levels 1,2,3 to 6 ) you can Punish if the enemies are "Out of Position" and deprive the enemy of their exp to win. 1. During the laning phase you always want to get damaging spells such as Stuns, Slows or Silence since at level 1 they usually cost low mana and yung can spam it instead of the passives but not always. You want to make the enemy use all of the regen items. 2. Again other than hitting the enemy creeps to get gold and exp, you may also kill your own creeps if they reach 10-50% hp. If youre successful to deny your creep the Enemy Hero wont get the gold and get less exp. 3. The first to get level 2 or 3 may initiate small lane fights, and first to reach Level 6 may dominate the game. Especially in Mid Heroes since they're 1 v 1. 4. Punishing - if the enemy hero is alone or underleveled you may kill 5. Out of position - the safest positions is always at the back of your lane creeps. Usually supports does this and it is very punishable Timings : ( When to fight or when to Farm ) At one point in the video at Minutes 30:00 where you guys died and said Medusa is AFK and Vengeful is Farming. We usually called it "Timings" I think it's a more advance term example of timings : 1. When you hit level 6 getting your ults - example Bloodseekers Rupture you may use it against the heroes your laning with or other enemy heroes in other lanes especially mid heroes. 2. When you got a certain item midgame that is very strong at early game - example your Mjolnir 3. When you get Black King Bar - usually you should get this at Minute 25:00 ( before it was patched it gives you spell Immunity and it's gives you a high amount of Spell Resistance ) Objectives : ( You always want to make the enemy Side Map Smaller for them ) is like a a guide where it somehow helps you win the game ( more likely destroying enemy towers, less focus on fighting ) 1. Pushing a Tier 1 tower at 10 minutes because the creep wave will spawn a Creep Cart that deals high damage to towers. 2. By destroying Tier 1 or T1 ( at early game ) or T2 and so on makes the map of the Enemy a little bit smaller which makes them to farm less ( like again Depriving of gold and exp ) 3. By destroying T1s results for the enemy to get less "Responding to Fights" like Teleporting
@@illicit8 thats true so usually in some ranks 1. In 10 mins the obj is all T1s destroyed ( usually T1 in Enemy safe lane -> Mid T1 -> Triangle T1, then you start warding their side of map, smoking and hunting the enemy Supports or Carry 2. or you may Farm 3. By or before 25 minute you may have ur midgame items or Bkbs ( for carries ) and start pushing Enemy Safe Lane Tier 2 since the area has more Exits/ broader compared to Triangle T2 ( the area is Narrower) in higher ranks they wont give and defend Triangle T2 since the area has the Ancient Camp and its very important since ancient Yields more exp and gold farm. 4. Usually after pushing 1 Tier 2 you may go Roshan. After roshan you fight wit Aegis and push all T2 then you go Highground T3. Around this time you should be controlling the enemy Triangle so they cannot farm at all hehe, you farm abit go highground and finish the game. Just follow the the format till u reach higher ranks then it will Vary from there on, in higher ranks only if there's an opportunity we go, if none we play safe. Since one wrong move or one clash wipe enemy can finish the game within less than 25 mins.
@@illicit8Bloodseeker ult is one of the most broken spells in this game. When you ult them they cant run because Rupture deals damage when you move, and we're talking about PURE damage here which ignores armor and magic resistance of a hero AND yes this skill pierce through BKB. The only way to counter this ability is to buy "Linken Sphere" which blocks any single target spells, but you can easily go around this by buying any single target items like Heaven's Halberd which Bloodseeker definitely picks up against right click heroes or just simply asking teammates to pop the enemies Linken Sphere before using Rupture. So everytime your Rupture is up, find ways to use it because it pretty much leads to a guaranteed kill. It would be best against mages, heroes that isnt really strong in melee combat, or if you want to disable certain mobility heroes in a clash because they can't run and they'll pretty much be forced to sit to avoid Rupture's pure damage.
3:15 good question whoever that is, however the answer is much complex, depend on the hero and skill build, ie. if u have dogshit lane as naga siren u can go jungle as early as lvl 3, but u cant do the same as Riki. if u forced to go jungle adjust ur item build too, buy regen, attack dmg/speed, dont go boots, etc

@@illicit8Troll Warlord seems easy, and at low ranks he is, but he’s actually a very punishing hero. This is because he’s so simple, he has little way to counter play his weaknesses. He does one thing, and it’s try to man fight everyone. He can do that very well, but also very exploitable for the same reason. His only skill is right clicking people and then how to outplay the opponent and circumvent your weaknesses when your enemies are good enough to not let you just walk at them
i'd say its much simpler. Unless you are playing in ancient+ bracket, your lane wont be that punishing until at least minute 6, and by then hopefully you are close to lvl 6. In the first 6 to 8 minutes, the priority is lane > jungle, since you cant clear jungle fast enough. You go jungle early only when you sure the enemy will kill you if stray too far from tower
My 2 of my league friends quit once they learned about courier micro. You doing better than most i met. Sitting through an entire high school presentation with such dedication was nice.
Honestly getting used to not backing to get more health and mana was the hardest part to adjust to, that and remembering to buy items for the courier to bring 😂
Informative teaching, great gameplay overall. Some slight mistakes - using items (most items are active in Dota), skills sequence (use your ult before using 2nd skill as it will force the enemy to stop moving and easier to setup your 2nd skill), use ult before chasing (for this hero, your ulti has long cast range and it will force the enemy to stop moving so you can chase them easier plus you get vision of them if they keep moving and take more damage). If you want become decent at Dota, I recommend finding a hero you like and spamming them in one role for like 20 games. Don't overthink your items/skill build and just get used to your ranges and think about when you feel strong. I would generally either wait for lvl 7, your ult, or 1 item after upgraded boots depending on your hero before teamfighting/tp-ing. On core (carry, mid, offlane), you should focus on getting last hits in the laning stage (you want 60-80 at around 10 minutes, you can see it at the top-left of your screen next to LH/DN). Kill gold and xp scale off the enemy's Networth and Levels, so kills aren't as worth-it before 10 minutes. Try cancelling your auto-attacks by using your Stop key (S or H by default) - Dota has turnrate, so you want to actually face the creeps before cs'ing. In the midgame, it's your job on core to push waves into the enemy towers whenever you can, creepwaves are worth about x2.5 a jungle camp in gold/xp, so they should be your main focus. You can win in this bracket just by pushing creeps into towers, waiting for the enemy to tp, and tp-ing to take a fight on the other side of the map. You should resist taking fair 5v5s unless you're already leading by like 10 kills. On support (4/5), it's your job to pick up the slack wherever your cores are lacking. That means scaling and pushing creeps when they don't do it. You are there to create a gold/xp advantage for your team by denying, stacking, pulling, and getting whatever creeps your cores would be missing. You don't need to focus on stacking/pulling for now, but you should still pay attention to the clock at the top of your screen. Efficiency is key on support, so you generally want to fill your slots after boots with stuff like Wand, Wind Lace, cheap item components (like Fluffy Hat), and Wards. You can probably get away with only warding cliff spots, but as advice, you generally want 1 ward to keep your carry safe while farming and 1 either mid or near an objective (behind or on a cliff near an enemy tower, or further in front of your tower in defense). You can also place a ward just at the start of a fight to get vision on the enemy.
League doesn't have as many active items and we don't fully know what everything does yet so we don't fully know when to use items or remember to use them 😂
@@hakimmacpat1225 The thing is I play Dota 2 since 2012 and I’ve never heard of medium camps. I know small and big ones have different neutral creeps, but medium and big camps have the same neutrals, so what is the difference? You can just stuck more creeps in big camps?
@@IOnlyFearGodsmedium camps are golems, ogres, wolves, big centaur + small centaur. Big camps are wildkins, the ursa creeps, big centaur + 2 small centaurs. I think i missed a few but you get the point

I love Bloodseeker, little tips using this hero, if you ganking enemy, use your ulti first then use your 2nd Skill, this way, even if Ur enemy have escape mechanism, like that Mario jump, He will bleed to death, if not, He will stay and get silent instead. Everytime u have ulti, u want to gank with ur support to kill enemy support or their carry. By the way, try to use that BKB, if u get gank, just press it and TP away, lol.
@@illicit8 You'll get the hang of it man. You basically need to start thinking of the item in importance instead of just which button as if they're all equally important, if that makes sense. So if you have a mekanism or arcane boots? Those are going to be high priority early game. BKB is like omega god-tier priority as soon as you get it. You need to be like, telling yourself over and over, remember to BKB (and potentially TP home during BKB if it's super bloody fucked) and make sure the finger is ready. Like, on an ursa, with blink, BKB and Abyssal blade: Your blink is something you're gonna be using often. You should have it in your MOST COMFORTABLE item hotkey slot. The BKB is SUPER FUCKING IMPORTANT so you put it on a key you're comfortable with that isn't too obscure but isn't your most-used. The Abyssal blade is kind of important for securing kills but isn't life or death or commonly used, so you put it in a slightly less convenient 3rd item slot that you will probably pre-emptively use (like, you know you're gonna blink -> abyssal often so you have time to mentally confirm the key, unlike blink/bkb which have more time pressure) That's how I approach it. Have a game plan. "If a stun is thrown at me and 3 heroes are missing, I'm gonna BKB. My BKB button is C. If my TP is up I will also TP unless a kill is guaranteed". Remind yourself of your 3 most important item keys CONSTANTLY. A vague plan before committing to any action is going to improve your odds massively. "I'm gonna stun CM but if another hero shows I press C for BKB and double tap T". Have a plan, and an escape plan.
yh good idea, and more over i always have same items on same places/slots like sticks or bkb, so no matter what is happening in game I just press needed button like a habit without thinking what hotkey is my bkb @@illicit8
@@illicit8 something i like is using alt+q, alt+w, alt+e, alt+r for some my most important items. that way i dont have to move my hands from my main keys, and i just keep my thumb on alt all the time, so using any item on those bindings is completely effortless and u dont have to spend that half second looking for the right key cuz your fingers are always on the right keys
On bloodseeker if you use your q on yourself and use w or ult it amplifies the abilities (you can use it after you pressed the ability too) cause besides the attack soeed buf you get you also get spell amp
No, don't do it, mm is still pure casino, it gives u the worst players just to level the percentage of wins for the players on the opposite side, the same for them , it can give u VISIBLY better players than one the opponent gets, they ABSOLUTELY have no business making a decent mm, the basics of a good MP game which is a BLATANT disrespect to all players. So you won't lose anything by ignoring this game

I've mentioned it (mostly about how not to draw aggro while harassing) but will drill more into it whenever I do a lesson on Mid or Creep Equilibrium. Right now the things losing them lanes are bigger problems than creep equilibrium, usually its poor item use or the opponent doing pulls or them not expecting ganks. They've had a lot of games where the opponent pulls a lot, I've never seen them face opponents who abuse aggro against them.
There's next to nothing to learn, unless you learn to jungle, all of league's learnable coming over from DOTA things are MUs and Micro, I feel you'd have to unlearn Dota habits
The issue with this as a league player that went to dota. Is a dota player could easily figure out league with ease. A league player without help will struggle for hundreds of hours stuck at less then 1,000 mmr. Until they finally realize that this is not league of legends, it doesn't play like league, and the entire dynamic of how the game plays is just completely different. The best way to summerize it would be like this Dota League All of league of legends mechanics Check Check All of dota mechanics/interactions Check ? What are illusions, stacking, pulling, wave cutting, "space creating" back packs?, Evasion?, being ethereal? what?, Disarmed, Tinker the hero, invoker the hero, i mean the list goes on and on. and at the end of it all every league player can understand these concepts but putting them all in the game will freeze their brain. Where as in dota... there is no uhh "new" mechanics or concepts that we have to learn. Its just a much simpler version of dota with a much higher emphasis on fighting, laning mechanics etc.

Silver edge was good in thst game cause it's one of the only things in game that disables passives (when attacking from stealth). You could either disable Necro and make fights easier or even better go for bloody Shadow fiend. Great gameplay. Love you guys (in a good way 😉)
u guys don't even know the origins of MOBA genre... u still think that DOTA aka Defense of the Ancinents aka conquest is the origin of MOBA genre... but in essence, it is countless community-made maps. outdated. why Arena is big open niche. watch the King's Avatar animation on 9 anime. DOTA was never meant for Esports. and it has countless game design issues. snowballingy, only using meta or u fall behind etc...
The hero arenas etc before dota weren't as recognizable as mobas so it's kind of pointless. Young me from 2006 could quickly grasp league of legends today based on having played 2006 dota.
