Hanging from one arm may seem super impossible to you right now, but here’s how you can work on it even if your grip strength isn’t quite there yet!
By using assitance (keeping your weight in your feet) you can build strength in your shoulders & grip PLUS you can have a wiggle, rotate and hit some awesome angles that get such a nice stretch for your shoulders!
You can easily progress by reducing how much weight you have in your legs, moving onto your tippy-toes or lifting one of your feet.

Another way to build up single arm hang or any hang/pull up is to swim underneath the 1m-plank and grab the rail there. Buoyance is Not only going to assist weight-wise but also add a weird little challenging twist/drift to the coordination

One thing that I notice is the pain in my hands cause me to let go before my grip does and that’s me using weight gloves.

One thing I noticed is that my hands give up because the pain in my hands, not because of my grip and that’s using weight gloves. And the more often I do it the more painful my hands are trying to hold onto that grip.

i am a climber, i can hang on my right arm perfectly still for 10 15 seconds but when i try to hang on my left arm i start to rotate and feel pain going from my shoulder through my bicep, i cant keep my body straight and my shoulder feels very weak. I also have a lasting naggin pain on that left shoulder on certain movements which i tried to "cure" without succes. Could it be due to muscle imbalance? how can i adress this issue?

How often per week and how many sets (per arm) do you rercommend ? Another question: I have no problem deadhanging with one arm on a bar of e.g. a swing which has a fairly big diameter. However, on a pull-up bar (much smaller diameter) I cannot deadhang with one arm at all. Why is that? (I guess surface covered to which hand/wrist etc. can attach to obviously makes a difference vs. just grip strength on a much smaller surface area of the hand, but it still doesn't really click/make sense in my mind :( )

Would just keep up with the practice with the feet on the ground, trying to do it a little bit daily is great, spend 2-5 mins on it just resting as you need to and it’ll get easier so you won’t need to do it as often

How do you one arm hang without your body spinning? I'm pretty strong. I can two arm hang for over 2 minutes and one arm for over 30 seconds but my body spins

Practice engaging your back more in the hang, the active passive hang drill you can do with one arm at a time too so will help you stop spinning

Is your SMM program a follow along workout or just instructions on the movements and then you have to do them on your own?

It’s a course, the update next month has full follow along formats but ideally I like you to be self led with SMM so that you go at the pace you personally need and assess the movements side to side so you’re not just going through the motions
