My aircraft is fuel injected, but you still need to know this. I went out to Vegas on vacation and when I landed I had a tire go out and the others were getting to the point they would soon go, so I had all of them replaced. It was nothing serious, but while I was waiting for the hangar crew to change the tires, I was without a plane for 3 days. We had plans to run up to Reno and meet some friends and I wanted to keep the plan going. I rented a Cessna 172 with a naturally asperated engine and the higher elevation demanded leaning. I fumbled my way through it, balancing fuel flow, RPM, EGT and got it as best I could. But it's an uncomfortable feeling not remembering a simple procedure like that.

Why don’t you use electronic fuel injection? Seems like an antiquated system to me.
