By far my favourite scene! She had softened towards him and was falling for him but she wasn’t really sure how he felt until that moment when she came out of the corner store and watched him lost in his disappointment and understood that this was deeper than a good friendship. It gets me every time.
This movie has some of the best chemistry I've ever seen in a modern-set film. And it's not sexual. I mean, yeah that's a part of it, but that's not the real motivation behind it and you can feel it. Their acting, the cinematography, the directing, the music choices, the script...everything is just so perfectly timed and delivered and executed in this film. It's got cheesy and silly parts, but man, the genius of it all really holds it together strong. This film and their relationship in it rivals that of Matthew Macfadyen and Keira Knightly in Pride and Prejudice. I mean, it really is that level of tension and romance in a way that is so artfully captivating... but not so much that it doesn't feel like the realist thing ever.
I agree about the reality of it. The only drawback for me is that it has several editing and script flaws that only became noticeable each time I watch it which has been countless times now. These tend to break the "4th wall" for me but not enough to stop watching it. It reminds me of the film "The Quiet Man" with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara which also takes place in Ireland. It also I have seen several times but have never noticed any editing or script flaws in it.
I love this scene and the one in Dublin on the bridge. When Declan says, “Would it make a difference?” He graciously lets her go. If you love someone set her free and if she loves you she’ll come back to you. Anna figured it out. In the end only true love makes life beautiful. What a terrific movie. Acting was phenomenal by all, especially Matthew and Amy. The genius of the movie is that so much is left to the imagination. So the movie sits with you. Well, well done!
Leap Year is my favorite movie 💚 And I think this scene is one of the most beautiful scenes because she realizes that he had already fallen in love with her and without saying a single word she knew it!!
It is one of my favorite films even though the critics did not like this I don't care I absolutely I love connection they had emotionally psychologically physicallythe beautiful moment I especially like when they get on the bus and she falls asleep on his shoulder 😂 I love that I love it
No entiendo porqué no ha tenido buena crítica la película...es maravillosa y los actores son divinos...a mi me emociona y me alegra el alma...no me canso de verla una y otra vez....
This is my most most most favourite scene. I just love expressions. And the way he smiles when he hears her voice. And the way she looks how's he searching for her. Man, I want to fall in Love.
@@stephieirene1 I think he knew he liked her when she threw up in his shoe and told him off and knew when he kissed her.😍😍😍😍 My all time fave- I still watch this!
@@stephieirene1 I think he knew he loved her much earlier but she was always giving him mixed/negative signals until that moment. This is where *she* changed because she saw his disappointment and his love.
I just saw this movie today and it's beautiful how he felt almost heartbroken when he saw the bus go by thinking she left already 😥 but no, she was still there! 😍 Such a great movie!!
Whenever I re-watch an old romantic movie that I loved as a child, I wonder if that couple would have ended up being happily married and I always feel that it wouldn't have happened because these rom-com couples are generally kinda toxic by real-life standards. But when it comes to this couple, I am pretty sure they would have had a happy and prosperous married life. Idk why I feel so but I am pretty positive about it. They have the best chemistry.🥺🥺❤❤
I love this movie... I have watched it soooo many times I have lost count... really! The acting, story line, scenery (I actually recognized some of the places (Cliffs of Moher) I think from a trip we took years ago-- beautiful) music and dialogue...not to mention Amy and Matthew... all so perfect! I'd say it was GRAND!!
In 2011...for 1/2 a year...I watched this movie maybe 40....maybe 100 times...Was working on a condo, renovating it on all my days off from work.....had it playing on the DVD player in the background over and over.... There's such a sweet message in this movie...but I missed using it in my own life...being so busy doing something besides saving that "one thing" "the fire" would take from me...I was spending so much time fixing that condo that I didn't spend time with my husband....and he died by the end of that half year (unexpectedly....). Careful everyone...and heed Declane's words...and what Anna finally did...The song in this scene...."Only love can break your heart"....It's so true...
Oh my, I have no words to offer for the painful experience of losing your spouse, except for thank you for sharing your story. I hope you're doing ok..... 💜
Agreed. Many great moments in the film, but this scene carries special meaning. It's a turning point in the film, for both of them. She could've just taken the bus alone, but she chose to keep him with her. That wasn't lost on him. She wanted him around. I love the way she lovingly adjusted the coat over him. And then witnessing his distress touched her deeply. She knew he cared for her as well.
Alejandro Espinoza copied from Bollywood movie jab we met which was released in 2007 and people think that if you have artist of your country and even format is copied doesn't matter but didn't apply to Bollywood but reality is format is Same and copied from Bollywood
The song is Only Love Can Break Your Heart sung by Gwyneth Herbert. It was written by Neil Young, but his version can't touch hers. I have seen this movie 11 times so far with more to come. Everything about it is perfect.
Amy and Matthew were so good in this!! and Matthew is simply perfect as Declan, scruffy, sweet, nonchalant, so freaking adorable !! this scene always melts my heart. These days I'm binge watching everything Matthew Goode after falling in love with him in A Discovery of Witches!!
IT HAPPENS .. SEE THE HAPPINESS IN HIS SMILE...OH SHE IS HERE... THANK GOD... I JUST DON'T WANT THIS JOURNEY TO BE FINISHED... DEPTH OF LOVE.... MY GOD... PRICELESS ACTING... THOSE WHO SUFFERED FROM THIS PAIN CAN UNDERSTAND....
Best scene in the movie. The other one was in Dublin when he told her why he does not care. He said "Would it matter?" I wonder, could the movie have been better if his face was shaven because he is truly very, very handsome? (Match Point, A Single Man) or if Amy were taller? She's short for his 6'2" height.
His scruffy beard look compliments the character he is playing. The cardiologist is clean shaven, not Declan. Declan has been through that dark night of the soul.
i didnt know this movie until my colleague introduced it to me coz i like rom-com movie a lot..... and no regrets in watching it, very awesome movie make me fall in love again.
I didn’t much care for the wedding scene in this movie or when Anna fell down the hill and slid in the mud because they were so contrived, but damn, if I could get a woman to look at me the way she looks at him in this scene, I could be happy and have a life, especially if it was Amy Adams.
👍🤗❤ I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MOVIE I OWN IT AND I HAVE WATCHED IT SOOO MANY TIME AND ILL KEEP WATCHING IT THEY WERE BORH SOOO PERFECT FOR THIS MOVIE I AM A BIG FAN RIGHT ON THANK YOU ❤❤❤❤
Michael Standing ...I think depends on what happened when they were together and why they broke up. For some, the situation that surrounded their relationship was not in their control....so to speak.
I have fallen asleep many times when I was very young, standing and my head up while going back home after my labour day during transportation in a public bus ...
@candycane16100 The director probably had him wear a beard because two days on the road would have given him a stubble. He didn't bring an overnight bag on the trip. A great director, by the way.
