So he can't figure out what to do when it's rape or incest well actually it's pretty simple. In what other instance do we punish the innocent for what the guilty do? There is an unborn innocent child and then there is a rapist. Is it really that hard to figure out who to punish?

Abortion in the case of rape is one of the few times I'm grudgingly okay with it. I don't like it, but in that case the woman's choices didn't get her pregnant, and forcing her to carry the baby for 9 months would be the kind of torture that is on par with ending a life in my book. There would still need to be some regulations to prevent people from trying to game the system, no waiting 6 months then claiming you were raped for example, but it's a very rare case where exceptions could be made. When you aren't dealing with rape however, the woman made choices that caused her to get pregnant. You shouldn't get to kill someone just because you don't want to deal with the consequences of your actions.

The reality of what truely happened vs. what Baldwin truely believes happened could easily be completely different at this point in time. With all the people surrounding him probably telling him it wasn't his fault or coming up with excuses, being an actor or self denial his mind probably completely changed reality. That goes for the witnesses also, peoples memories are unreliable even without all the outside influence a famous person would be exposed too

If California has the right to privacy then why do they force you to show vaccine papers? Or is it only for abortion?

Garigos is using an intellectually bankrupt argument when he brings up cases of rape and incest in the abortion conversation. I think the right side of the aisle would be completely fine with affecting legislation on the other 99.8% of abortions and leaving rape and incest as acceptable exceptions. It's similar to changing societal norms for the sake of the miniscule number of non-binary people. Why even discuss the fringe cases when the bulk of the discussion doesnt even revolve around those circumstances?

I look forward to this show every Saturday. I love hearing two people talk who have very different POVs and backgrounds enjoying a rational discussion about current legal events. Another great show to kick off my Saturday.

On the issue of rape, if the Right conceded the 1-2% of all abortions (those the result of incest and or rape), then the Left should accept that and consider it a victory; but that's not the issue. The Left wants abortions to be permitted (read 'encouraged') up to and including a child's 18th birthday.

The only problem with the what about rape or incest argument is that its a disingenuous argument. There is not a single pro life activist that wouldn't take that deal today. No one who is pro abortion would actually agree to end abortion except in cases of rape or incest, but every pro life activist would jump at the chance to end 99.9999% of abortions.

Maybe the “movie folk” should be a bit more welcoming to the NRA. My guess is we’d have more safety, knowledge, and responsibility around firearms. Seems to make sense 9 out of 10 movies have firearms in them.

I want to know why a person could be charged with a double murder if they killed a pregnant woman but you're not charged with murder if you have an abortion. The only difference I can see is that one pregnancy was wanted and the other was not. This has always been a bit confusing to me

If my kid got shot because the school let a potential shooter BACK into the classroom after yanking him from class as a potential threat, you better know I'm going to hold the school system responsible. They are not off the hook just because the parents didn't want to take him home. They will be sued by the victims' families. It's open and shut.

This may be the best episode of this show I’ve seen or heard. On the subject of abortion I feel that “choice” should only come in to play when there’s the matter of rape, incest, and choosing between the life of the mother or child which btw only account for a tiny percentage of cases. However, pro-choice advocates use these points to shut down the issue entirely. In virtually every aspect of life we say “you are responsible for your choices”… Why not follow that when you create life?it’s not like you don’t have control in that act with little exception. You need to be responsible choice maker. I don’t feel a human being forfeits the right to life because there were circumstances they had no control over. An unborn life is at a point a human being with a right to that life. On a lighter note for feck sake Mark, please use a coaster.

Got first! Great interview! Mark's perspective is super fascinating. We had shotguns in truck windows when I went to High school and there was never even one school shooting back then. Removing the fear of God (consequences) from society creates the school shooting problem. When society and kids parents tell kids that they will go to Hell if they kill people, then kids will believe it 100% of the time. I am a Christian, but it does not even matter if Christianity is true - children are dying because our culture has changed...

On the Stephanopolis interview: I believe he left a fairly unsubtle signal about how the whole thing was put together. Half of the time when the camera is on Steph he has his glasses on, the other half not. When I noticed this I edited the glasses on/glasses on segments and found a noticable diference in the voice and body patterns of the interviewee comparitively. I would love to see the original, unedited material and to understand how much editorial control the interviewee had on the project.

One would think Baldwin knows enough about PR to know that an interview defending himself -- and blaming the victim for directing him to point the gun at her -- is not a good call.

Roe was a farcical political play by the court. There is no serious justification to be made for usurping the states’ rights to regulate or outright ban abortion as they see fit. There are so many things that the federal government has stretched its inky tentacles into things which are not even briefly mentioned or hinted at in the constitution. The constitution outlines clearly what is supposed to be handled by the feds. Literally every other matter is supposed to be determined and enforced by each state individually. This is why American conservatives have so little faith in the GOP. If any of the Republican governors, mayors and legislators had any semblance of a backbone, they would be openly defying the federal government in all matters which aren’t clearly expressed in the constitution as being under federal control. The states should be doing everything in their power to keep the federal government and the administrative bureaucracy an arms length away but somehow, we’ve got their arm lodged firmly up all of our asses. We need mass noncompliance. Clearly we aren’t going to get any support from leftist-run states, considering they all seem to believe that the purest vision of America is one in which the federal government controls absolutely everything and the states have no power at all. But every single red state should be openly, brazenly flouting every single federal overreach, every usurpation of individual state authority. It’s an absolute joke that this issue is even being argued in the Supreme Court. Abortion is not mentioned at all in the constitution - hearing adjourned. If states cannot even decide to ban the mass murder of unborn children, they have no power at all.

Abortion is a sticky subject for me, morally I believe it's wrong, but also I don't believe that the government should be in the business of regulating morality. I think viability is a good bench mark, we need to enshrine that into law stronger and work on increasing viability. As for determining life, I think we need to define when someone is dead and work backwards from there. If death comes when the heart stops beating than that's when life begins, it it ends with the end of brain function than it begins with brain function. People act like it's hard to define life, but it's not. life is the opposite of death so if a bodily function failing is death than that bodily function starting should signify life. Also, you should never be charged with murdering someone if they could be legally aborted, it's a contradiction of law. Either it's a life and the abortion is a chargeable murder, or it's not a life and therefore I can't kill it.
