One thing you forgot to mention.. other than converbelt.. which is side area where ppl can walk also. I want to highlight here if you are NOT comfortable you can walk.. UX law which I can relate here USER CONTROL AND FREEDOM.

Anudeep you told that conveyer belts are made in keeping escalators in mind due to match between system and real world, but we can also consider jakob's law here na, because user are already familiar with escalators so it will be easier for them to use conveyer belts also?
