I am learning a lot from each video! Thank you so much for explaining what you are doing. Calling the cows by whistling is smart. :)

I was just watching a utube about growing your own green fodder you might want to look into it for a supplement with hay. Fodder Solution is the company name but there are also utube from homesteaders on how to grow it for yourself. This could be an added income if you got into it for winter supplements. The uutbe used bleach to sterilize but maybe Aplle Cider vinegar to do this. Alot healthier for the animals. Really cool ! Elaine K

You are talking about Forage Verde Hidroponico as it's called in Spanish. Basically you let corn seeds germinate and then use the matts that result as green forage. Yes, I've investigated that. We have a similar idea with Vetiver grass that we have started to grow in many places but as well might try the other way. As a product I'm not sure. Ranchers here want to save every penny. It's a complicated story. But then our own goals are quite different from everybody else's.

Hi! Thanks for the offer. At some point we will offer opportunities in different roles. We'll have to see how the situation with the virus evolves. Stay in touch!

Maybe the Limusin cows are just far-sighted. And I think that last cow very interesting. Maybe she is really intelligent & has a thought of her own. Otherwise she will just stupidly follow the rest of the herd.
@ProjectGranjaCaimito
@ProjectGranjaCaimito 2 года назад
As this is an older video I can talk about the current situation. Those limusin cows apparently have been bred for the unfortunate feedlot and were not very good on a grass diet - as it should be. A larger number did not survive. Others are still around and those are stones with much more docile behavior as well.

@@ProjectGranjaCaimito Oh you guys have grain based feedlot in Europe too? I taught only the Americans do that. It is still a strange thing from me coming from Southeast Asia.

I absolutely love your stuff, I have been watching all of your posts and totally agree with your methods. We all need to make a living and feed our families without degrading the land, to leave the land better than when we arrived. Once you have decided how to break down your land to manageable areas you might decide to plant some hedge rows to add to the diversity, I have done this and keep a few goats to control the hedges, its a win win situation.
@ProjectGranjaCaimito
@ProjectGranjaCaimito 3 года назад
Yes. The plan is to get the infrastructure done and then move our focus on to the plants. Have a look at the December video where you can see a glimpse of that a bit.

That's good to hear. Best of luck to you!

Before I moved with my parents to my father's hometown in Idaho, I used to hear occasional mooing from our next-door neighbor's ranch when I lived in southeastern Michigan.

That would be lovely. But first basic fertility. No point in all the good stuff when it turns into dust over summer.

When you say Oak, are you referring to Cork Oak?
@ProjectGranjaCaimito
@ProjectGranjaCaimito 3 года назад
It's mostly Quercus ilex bellota in this area. Cork Oak is a different one that we don't have.
