I have no doubt you are familiar with the world famous Crater of Diamonds State Park. But did you know there are seven, other, privately-owned, diamond-bearing, lamproite pipes within 5 miles of the public park? Please join me as I get out the maps to show you where they are located. I also explain why there is a swarm of diamond-bearing pipes in this area of Arkansas. I worked in diamond exploration and recovery outside the state park for three years and have sampled all of these diamondiferous intrusions. Due to a remarkable, unprecedented opportunity two of them are now for sale. The 79.33-acre Twin Knobs One Intrusion is being offered for sale at $2 1/2 million. The 240-acre Blacklick Intrusion is up for sale at $3 million. Serious investors can inquire for more information through my email address that I give in this video. Please subscribe and watch my upcoming videos where I will take you to the sites of these other, lamproite intrusions near The Crater of Diamonds State Park.

Interesting seeing the maps miners have and learning a bit more about the area, I admit I'm more interested in the geology from a geophysics perspective than a miners perspective but it is good to try and see things from other people's perspectives. In this case I didn't know about the other volcanic pipe intrusions. There are apparently some young i.e. few million year old Lamproite pipe eruptions over in Wyoming but they aren't weren't diamond bearing so they never attracted this kind of attention. Its fascinating to think about how diamonds are basically incidental strata which occasionally get caught by these likely supersonic almost rocket like pipe eruptions. I don't know if you are familiar with seismic tomography but there appears to be a subducted slab down beneath the area so there probably is a connection driving the source of magmatic melts The Lamproite and Kimberlite eruptions are a phenomenon which needs more attention since they do appear to still occur infrequently as the Igwisi Hills is around 12,000 years meaning the rapid explosive nature of these events could very well be a real geological threat we as a society must consider so knowing the how and why they trigger seems like it should be a bigger priority even if the risk isn't all that large given their rate of occurrence(though they tend to occur in clusters). As a naturalist I admit I naturally have a very different picture on the destruction from all this large scale strip mining which hurts my soul a bit. What people call "the woods" varies quite a bit after all the time it takes for a healthy forest to recover/become reestablished is over half a century and that is only if their is functional soil in an area. And no matter what the lumber companies say tree plantations are not forests since forests are complex ecological communities with different plant communities in various both cooperative and competitive relationships with each other and fungi. Given these ecologies are highly dependent on the soul type I can't help but lament what kind of unique species likely once existed in these highly alkaline volcanic pipe soils. I wish our society paid more attention to the larger interconnected big picture beyond just money. You can't eat money or diamonds after all. Well good luck with your mining stuff I hope miners are taking some measures to help restore areas when they are done with them. Soil is a precious ecosystem not just dirt

I REALLY appreciate you comments and perspective. Our mine is a small scar on the earth. Some people have dug bigger swimming pools than our open pit diamond mine. At most, one acre (the aprrox. size of a football field) is all that will ever be excavated of our 10-acre mine. That's all of the volcanic material we have on our land. The rest is on our neighbor's land, and it has never been mined. It has only been sampled enough (in the 1990s) to prove that there are diamonds there. Thank you for watching my videos and for commenting.

What did they find in the bottom of the black lick hole that was dug out
@genuinediamondsinar3253

Lots of lamproite and a diamond. They dug, hauled and stockpiled 10,000 tons of diamond ore. They only washed a little of it, found a diamond, ran out of money, and laid everyone off. They left all those tons of ore just sitting there unwashed. Crazy!

Great information! Do you think there are other intrusions yet to be discovered in the area?
@genuinediamondsinar3253
@genuinediamondsinar3253 4 года назад
Yes, a diamond exploration company named "Cominco" did a lot of exploration in the area in the 1980s. They reportedly found "Escondido," which means "The Hidden One." They never revealed the location but moved on to explore the kimberlites on the CO/WY stateline district. Howard Coopersmith was one of those geologists. He was later involved with diamond recovery at The Kelsey Lake Kimberlite Mine. I have searched for it, but so far nada. It is intriguing, though.
@ModernProspector
@ModernProspector 3 года назад
Is anyone currently searching for lamproitic indicator minerals in drainages around the district. A detailed sampling operation similar to the one I'm involved in NE Montana are usually extremely effective at locating pipes. I'm honestly in complete shock that I have never seen or heard about anyone searching for placer diamonds downstream from Crater of Diamonds. The upper several thousands of feet of the lamproite has eroded away in the geologic past based on the current shape of the lamproite intrusion. The tops of pipes are the richest too because of the size of the top of the intrusion and the kimberlite ore is cooled much more quickly, leading to less diamond resorbtion. If mantle intrusions cool too slowly, all of the diamonds will be resorbed, likely the reason only a small percentage of pipes still have a mine-able quantities of diamonds. I've got my eyes on some gravel bars downstream from the Crater but I won't have time to check anytime soon because I've been working on finding my own diamondiferrous kimberlite pipe.
@ModernProspector
@ModernProspector 3 года назад
Certainly there's a dike system connecting the intrusions. Has anyone attempted to locate the trend of the dikes? Almost every kimberlite and lamproite I've seen has a trend connecting the intrusions. The Arkansas lamproite pipes appear to have a NE trending linement similar to the Leucite Hills lamproites in SW Wyoming. If I were searching in Arkansas I'd be finding and walking the dike to look for other intrusions. Remember, not all pipes make it to the surface, and may be under just inches of topsoil like the Ellendale diamondiferrous lamproite in Australia. The lamproites that are most likely to have high diamond populations are olivine lamproite. The more olivine the more likelyhood that the pipe has eroded more quickly than the surrounding country rock. Invest in a stereo microscope and search for chromites, ilmenites, and other LIMs in drainage material after classifying and concentrating the heavy minerals. Using material from a known local pipe to practice on should set you on the trail to an undiscovered intrusion.

@@ModernProspector there has been some magnetic surveying done along the NE trend of intrusions. I believe that this is how one of the later was found.

I would love to see a video like this on north carolina. The source of diamonds here are still a mystery, i have been tracking the source of some pyrope garnets in a creek and just curious if maybe i could find a diamond amongst them.
@genuinediamondsinar3253
@genuinediamondsinar3253 11 месяцев назад
Red or purple, pyrope garnets are one of the three, classic, diamond-indicator minerals. Here in Arkansas we have more of the black, chromium spinel and green chromium diopside than garnets. But our diamond source is lamproite which, typically, has fewer pyrope garnets than kimberlite. The diamond source in NC may very well be kimberlite which is usually highly populated with pyrope garnets. Are your garnets red or purple? Are you finding any spinel or diopside there?

There have been 13 diamonds found in the state of North Carolina since 1893, the largest of which was four carats. Most of them were found as a result of panning operations for gold or monazite. You probably already have this info, but in case you don't, here is a link: naturalsciencesresearch.wordpress.com/2014/12/04/ten-new-north-carolina-diamonds/

Did they knock down trees or do trees just grow sparingly in that area? I know they plow it monthly but was there ever trees on that part of the land? Will they eventually knock down the rest of the trees for a wider search area?
@genuinediamondsinar3253
@genuinediamondsinar3253 3 года назад
This state park is 911 acres, and most is covered in dense forest. Only 37 of the acres are open for diamond searching. Most of the vegetation and trees on those acres were cleared more than 100 years ago and regular plowing has kept the search field bare.
