When practising Cambridge exam tasks for your preparation, you'll need to infer the meaning of some of the vocabulary as your focus should be on understanding the text and getting the questions right. However, when you've finished the task, I recommend you go back and read the text again, this time paying special attention to the vocabulary you don't know. A lot of the words and phrases will be advanced and very useful - a great way to expand your vocabulary range, straight from the exam itself.

"He looks a lot like his father, but he's also got some traits from his mother." This was the first thing that came to mind when I thought about how to apply the noun "trait" to a sentence. I'm looking to take the CPE this year here in California and I find your videos very helpful. Thank you!

It never ceases to amaze me how well-thought-out and helpful your videos are, Ben! I wish I had been preparing for my CPE with your videos, but I didn't have the time as the necessity to take the exam popped out quite unexpectedly and I wasn't given much time to prepare. Still, I watch your videos whenever I have some free time and I always learn something new!

Hi Ben, As a staunch follower of your channel, I can't merely await your next video. Here are my examples : My old English teacher is a staunch believer I'll never reach a C2 level but I shrug off and keep going. Ben dislodged my thinking of not beeing good enough in reading English books. These reality shows are trite and therefore not worth of being watched. That was an outstandig video and I wrote them all out to make my own Flash Cards. Thank you so much👍❤️

Ben, you're one of my favorite teachers on You Tube. You're always curious about what makes learning English difficult so that you can support students. I cannot remember the meaning of "draw" in several circumstances. At all. I feel stuck and full of doubt whenever I come across this word. Would you consider helping me in getting over this pain?
@mhmahamhm
@mhmahamhm 3 месяца назад
"draw your sword" - said he. After a fierce battle, ultimately the fin score was a draw. We can draw a conclusion from today's presentation that it is possible to learn a language in a year. Here are some examples. Hope it helps!

Are these words/phrases formal enough to be used in writing/speaking?
@aram5642
@aram5642 4 месяца назад
I wonder how Cambridge (or any other) jury perceives someone who is really proficient in speaking, but at the same time they display some "mannerisms", for example extensive use of a specific interjection throughout all conversation; eg. 'like', or self-affirmation 'yeah', etc. Does that earn any negative points?
